Clutch #8

We got clutch #8 today. It was from breeding my VPI Axanthic male to a 66% Poss. Het. Axanthic female. We got 6 eggs that weighed in 533 grams. This is our second clutch from the same pairing, with one more due tommorrow. Hopefully we'll get to see some black and silver babies this year. The pic is a little bluury, as this female was real fiesty and was trying to bite my wife the whole time she was pulling the eggs. Here she is.

Thanks for all the good luck guys. Jo, actually that is not the mom in the picture with the Axanthic. That is a definite Het. female that I got from Brian at BHB. Wehn we got her, she was only 40 grams, and was not near big enough to breed this past year. She is doing good and should be ready this year. The three females that my Axanthic bred to were all 66% Poss. Hets.

Congrats Tim!! How many eggs did you get from the first clutch? We're almost in the same boat this season with axanthics. Three 66% het girls, but our male is just a het. Best of luck on proving them out!!!

Evan, good luck on your project as well. I am hoping for an Axanthic for you. Our first clutch was 8 eggs, second clutch was 6 eggs, and my third clutch is due today. I am expecting 6 eggs from her, that is if I palpated correctly. Are you working with VPI strain, or another line?

We're working with VPI line, and the girls are KILLING me! https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...h_mad02591.gif All three (siblings) went off feed at the same time around october and all weighed around 1100 grams. Then two started eating again like pigs around December. They both have HUGE follicles, one has five and the other has six, and they both weigh about 1700-1800. They are the only two girls that I'm waiting on now. So it's looking good to get at least one silver and black beauty this season, but I'm still on edge about it. Be sure to post pics once that other girl lays.
