    Brannagh and Orlah
These are current pics of our two biggest females.....both were pet store finds and we couldn't be happier with both of them...hopefully they will both breed for the first time this coming season.

    Ms. Brannagh:

Ms. Orlah - you can see her very long dorsal scarring in this pic but it doesn't bother her at all (the vet thinks she may have been exposed to an unprotected light bulb or something of that sort and it literally stripped the skin from her):

Thanks always to Eugene (gncz73) for taking such excellent care of our females while they are under breeding contract to him. :)

Poor Orlah, I actually cringed when I saw it. Just to think of what she must have suffered, is just terrible.

Anyway, the girls are looking wonderful and I hope they make you some nice babies next year. :gj:  Go Miz B!! :gj:

LOL Raj! You've just been waiting to use that hat tipping smiley haven't you! ;)

It is a bad scar Christie. Eugene actually got the best shot of it I've ever seen. It doesn't seem to bother Orlah at all as far as movement, shedding or if I touch it. It's actually very supple but yes it must have been a horrific thing for her to go through. Orlah is such a sweet natured big female too. Never a hiss or a strike and she came to us seemingly used to being handled so her past is a real mystery - perhaps a few owners? We'll never know about how Orlah got burnt or why Brannagh was so aggressive when we first got her.

Sorry to take this thread (kinda) off-topic... but when are you getting them back? I thought I had read through one of the other threads that Eugene's male didn't exactly get the job done.... What's up with your girls? I miss the "Brannagh's such a fiesty one.." threads... :) (Not that I like hearing about her striking at you or Mike.. not at all..) :)

Jo, they look great - and honestly, that's the first picture that I can remember of Orlah where I could see her scar. Poor baby!

Ken, I think that they're staying with Eugene into the next season to try "one more again"! ;)

We're renewing our contract Ken, so the females will stay with Eugene for this coming season to try again. Actually it wasn't Eugene's male that didn't do the job. He was quite interested and did breed the year before so knew what it was all about LOL. Neither of our virgin females however were overly interested.

Due to a number of factors we weren't able to get our females to Eugene until extremely late in the season and things just didn't work out. Neither Mike and I or Eugene wanted to stress the snakes by constantly pushing for breeding so made the decision to just let them settle in and try this coming season instead. The females had just reached a nice breeding size so the extra time certainly won't hurt either. Since we've moved so much closer we'll be able to visit our females regularily now and although we miss them, we appreciate the chance to share some clutches with Euguene's gorgeous male morphs.

As far as big Miss B the Brat, believe it or not Eugene's 5 year old son regularily handles her when Gene is cleaning. Who would have thought that highly aggressive female would have ever come this far. We hoped she'd calm down enough to just safely do her husbandry, never in our wildest dreams did we think she'd be safe for a kid to hold! She had started to calm down before the move to Gene's house. I was worried the change would cause a backslide but she's just continued going ahead in her progression to a nice calm big female. By all reports though she still retains her killer feeding response...Ms B likes her rats LOL Lovely Ms Orlah is just herself. For whatever her life was before us, she's a big darling and a dream snake to handle.

Malachi still has Kyna and Saorise available to him for this coming season as long as both of those females are up to size in time. Both are around the 1,000 gram range give or take, so it will just depend on how they do over this summer. If they aren't ready, Mal will just have to wait patiently LOL

Eugene has a couple of options for available males so we're working that out now, Chris. Should be a fun breeding year if all goes well that way both at his house and ours. :)

Thanks for the compliments Judy. We love these big girls! Actually I'm kind of glad, Robin, that Eugene got such a clear shot of Orlah's scar. It's a good lesson to never allow a snake unrestricted access to unprotected heat sources so I'll be keep it handy to illustrate what can happen. Orlah didn't deserve to get scarred up like that but thanks be it never seems to affect her health or temperment.

Actually Kyna's around 1,100 grams and Saoirse, our WC adult rescue just passed 1,000 last week but is still very underweight to my eye.

The female snakes in this thread, Brannagh and Orlah are much bigger. Brannagh is over 2,200 grams and Orlah is around 1,800 last time I asked Eugene. Since they are both good feeders they should do well continuing to gain weight and size steadily for him.
