Log book?
Anyone else keep a log book on their snakes?
I've had one for Jinx since day one. I write down what he ate, what time he ate, and if he is acting any different or if he is going blue or has shed, etc.
I just started another book for Sebastian.

Not a BOOK, persay... but record CARDS. I put them up on the site so everyone can use them if wanted. I also keep records in Metzcal on one computer, and FreeHerp on another.... just so everything's double backed up. :)
Here's a link to the record cards.. they're for 4x6 index cards:

Re: Log book?
I do it all by hand on record cards, and I made a spreadsheet in Excel. Data entry takes a while, but I can still manage. I've been wanting to put a copy of my card on my site as well. Maybe when I get home in a coupke weeks I'll post it on the site.

Re: Log book?
I use Degei full version, I tried freeherp and found too many things I felt were missing, I went to Degei free version and liked it so I bought the full version.

Re: Log book?
I have been keeping a composition book for three years.....each page is a month, and each line is the day of the month. It has been working great for me, as I can flip back and compare quickly things such as weight gains, growth, matings,# of eggs laid, feeds;what kind of prey and how many, and other items such as hatch dates, and acquired dates. It also helps me compare year by year and month by month. In addition to that, i have a reference folder for pictures, and pages of info I have printed off the computer.....such as YB comparison pics, Adam's breeding calendar, vet info/bills, and business cards from vendors at reptile shows. I keep records handwritten in a notebook because I totally suck at stuff on the computer....Do whatever is easiest and works for you....
