    Snake Poo
Silly question, but what does BP Snake Poo look like? I have cornsnakes, recently acquired a BP about 6 weeks ago and have yet to find anything that resembles poo. What I have found though are little white balls in the cage, almost as round as a dime and when rubbed in between my fingers, it looks like salt and breaks apart easily. My corns are like clockwork, 2 days after they've eaten, I find a nice pile for me and I know BP's can go weeks without doing it, but what exactly does it look like? Brown with urates in there or....????

The white round balls are urates. BP Poo looks like... Poo. :) It looks kinda like cat poo, or if your BP is old enough, it looks like medium sized dog poo. And smells very much like poo! :)

It looks just like you'd expect it to. Sometimes it will have urates mixed in, and sometimes not. What you're describing as the white chalky "salty" stuff is urates.

Don't worry about it, you're BP will go when its ready. :)

sheesh...I'm in the hospital for 2 weeks and dont see anything familliar LOL
now I'm gonna have to do some searching to find questions I was asking :)

    anyway, another question....
I saw someone mention that BP's can go for weeks without making a doody...is this true? and if so, how long is reasonable...I mean if Nag doesnt go in...4 weeks, is it ok or is it time to go see the vet? just approximations are fine.

forgot one thing...will they doody in their hides, or is it always out of the hide?

    Re: Snake Poo
Nah 4 weeks isn't anything to stress about. Their bms will depend on the amount of food eaten and the rate of growth they are experiencing. So there is no set time limit for those things. ;) You'll probably see a bm after the next shed. :D

Yes. I have one girl that almost always goes in her hide, and I have several that go wherever.

Depending on your settings. You can go to UserCP and look at subscribed threads, or even go to your public profile and look for threads you started or all of your posts. Hope that helps you quicken your search. :D

Sometimes they like to go right on top of their Acu-Rite probe too...ack! Btw a baby diaper wipe does a bang up job of cleaning the probe without damaging it. Just watch for a telltale bulge just before their vent and you'll know the big dump is about to occur. I learned that one the hard way with our male Malachi. Didn't really pay attention and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy using my lap for a toilet LOL. Just sitting there nicely watching tv, Mal lazing about in my lap, all of a sudden...dang it!....wet, smelly lap and one very relieved snake. Kind of reminded me of when my kids were babies LOL!
