Differences
How can you tell the difference between a normal and a cinnamon?
What obvious traits/coloration should I look for?
-
Re: Differences
Well, the cinnamon costs $8000-10000 and the normal costs $40-100. ;)
You could read the page here that details some of the unique features of cinnamons. http://www.grazianireptiles.com/collection/cinnamon.htm

Re: Differences
Oh really? Bargain. :P
I don't like cinnamons so I haven't checked prices. They are so blah looking to me. *shrug*

Re: Differences
well, the thing is, the snake is labeled as a cinnamon, but the price tag is $300. So, have I stumbled onto an awesome deal, or not? I mean why would a Cinnamon be priced THAT low, OR why would a normal be priced THAT high?

Where is this listed?

Re: Differences
It's a normal.. it may have cinnamon like color, but someone would have to be insane to sell one for $300.

Re: Differences
it's not online. it's at a pet store near where I live...the thing is, the guy that owns the store, from the way he talks, I don't think he's very informed about morphs. He told me he can't tell the difference between cinnamons and normals. So I guess that since he thinks they look a lot alike, he's thinking they shouldn't be priced too much higher than the normals?? He also said the guy that brought it in that bred it told him it was a cinnamon but that was all he said - he didn't suggest a price.

Re: Differences
Well how do you think this pet store owner got a cinnamon? I can almost guarantee it's normal.. it may look like a picture of a cinnamon to someone who isn't that involved with BPs, but that doesn't mean it's a morph.

Re: Differences
could you get a pic of it, its probably 99.99999% chance its just a normal and .00001% chance its a cinny.

Re: Differences
From what I've learned and gleaned here and seeing pics on the different breeder sites, I'd say that was a nice normal, but Adam, Jamie & some of the others with the trained and descerning eye would be able to confirm or deny my opinion. ;)

Re: Differences
go to the site you have linked to. he has cinny's listed at 4500. the one you linked to he calls it "cinny like". if he truly thought that was a cinnamon, why would he lose that much money or not keep it and breed it himself and prove it? that is not a cinny for 300.
