I've heard of low white Pieds, but this is ridiculous!

Check out this ad on KS. The middle pic is supposed to be a piebald. I have to admit the colors and pattern look like it, but wow. That snake has absolutely no white.

Definitely a pied ... that's what you get sometimes ... there's no control over it.

But the good news is that after looking at some pied combos on Monday in person, I'm convinced that there is huge potential for even low white/no white pieds like that one ... stay tuned! ;) :D

I love pieds like that...it is my goal to produce a pied like that....that pattern is wicked...nothing like it :D

I love low white pieds.. such a unique look. Hi white pieds are pretty boring to me.. either low white or half and half is nice.

I love the all-white pieds with the colored head. I'd rather have one of those than a mojave leucistic.

I'm a high-white > low-white pied person myself, but that almost-no-white pied is pretty cool looking. Mmm...orangey!

Nah, either give me all white with lovely blue eyes, or give me a nice contrasy pattern half and half white.

That said, I prefer Mojave to any leucy.

Wow, I thought I was like the only person in the world who loves low/no white pieds! The pattern and color are just awesome, and hope to produce one like that in the future. Of course, it would be all mine!

yeah I thought it was odd that the pair was only 10k, ive never seen them for sale at that price let alone for a pair.

I like high white or a nice combination. But really, it doesn't matter, I just love Pieds!

I think that pied is freakin cool.....imagine the possibilities for crosses with low-white pieds.

I'm not sure that a "low-white cross" would be any different than any other pied cross. The amount of white that comes through is totally variable. So MAYbe someday you'll hatch out a 1% pastel pied or something, but you couldn't specifically breed for it, so far as I know.

There will be a big difference. The dreamcicles are the proof ... the low white version of the dreamcicle would be nothing special if it were just a pied ... but mix that lav albino in and the amount of white doesn't even matter ... the animal is stunning!! :D

I don't know, imagine a high-white super pastel pied... maybe with just a bright yellow head. LOL. That's one reason I think Pieds are so popular because you never know what you're going to end up with.

I wasn't saying that a low-white cross wouldn't look great....I was just trying to say that I didn't think you could specifically breed for it. If you took a low-white pied and bred it to a pastel-het-pied....hoping to get low-white-pastel-pieds...you might be "disappointed"....although really...who could be disappointed in ANY pied or pied cross??? LOL

So the amount of white on a pied doesn't dictate how much white will most likely be on the offspring? Say you have a high-white pied female and high-white pied male; would their offspring be a) all high-white pieds, b) mostly likely high-white pieds or c) any and everything from high to low white pieds?

As I understand it (and my understanding is admittedly flawed at times :P ) the amount of white is totally random, regardless of the parents' markings.

Actually, I have two people on my waiting list that get their deposits back if I don't produce high white pieds for them ... wish me luck. ;)

Aahhhh...well, buying a pied and producing a pied are two different things, I believe. If I were buying one, I would look for my particular favorite pattern, because I do certainly find more pleasure in the look of some than others. BUT...if I had pieds making baby pieds, I'd be THRILLED with whatever pipped out!
