Oh Peter how awful. I remember something Ralph Davis wrote about how breeding snakes can sometimes just break your heart and the man was right on the button there. So sorry about another loss but hang in there and we'll all pray for the other little one to exit the egg safe and sound.

the thing is I keep my animals very well, the eggs are incuabted in a poly box but I have done for years! it just seems like this year I am destined for nothing but charlie romeo alpha pappa!

thanks all for your kind words!

if i saw a guy who had lost a female boa, then lost a baby king, I would be concerned over how the animals were beign kept!! luckily u lot I think know how much time and care I give all my charges!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself, Peter. Even the guys that look like they "have it all together" have heartbreaking losses sometimes. It's very enlightening to read through Ralph's (RDR's) breeding records because he lays it all out there in public view. And he has had many highly anticipated clutches that all went bad. But of course, he's had tons of success as well...because he just keeps keepin' on!

=( Sorry to hear you lost a baby, Peter...but boy that other is just TOO cute!

The karma comes around...the snake gods are being mean to you, which means they must have something special planned for you coming up. =)

OK well the little one is out now! As u can see by the pics he/she has a stunning red head and is quite plump, which is a huge comparison to the one that died earlier as that was very thin!

anyway here's a couple of quick pics!!

First thing I thought of actually was Pheonix. Something about wings and fire and all that. What a gorgeous snake and that head coloration is just stunning!
