I'm bored, and have no life.
How sad am I? Kids tucked in bed, husband away, and what am I doing? Nothing. Although in my defense my husband sucked all my energy out last week, (don't go there folks :evileye: ) since he had mumps. Both kids had Fifth's Disease. But I did finally get rid of the poison ivy that has been plaguing me for 3 weeks!!!
So, now that I'm done with my whining. What's everyone else up to? Feel free to entertain me. :D

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Well, I'm sitting here uncomfortably warm in the 82 degree snake room.. (usually it doesn't bother me but.. bleh) I need to feed the snakes, but I am lazy and am putting it off.

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
ditto on the i'm bored and have no life here. my husband is out of town and i've done nothing productive all day, though there is plenty to do... i think i actually get less done when he isn't here. how does that make sense?! i'm thinking of calling a friend (who is a night owl like me) and talking her into a late night run to denny's just to get out of the house for a while. yeah, i'm such an exciting person!
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Hey at least you can leave the house!! I'm tethered. I had to coach a soccer game and take the kids to a birthday party today. Both of which left me totally exhausted.
April I know that feeling about putting off feeding. I almost forgot the feeding on Thursday.
I'm glad it's not just me!! :D :D :D

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Yep.. figuring out who eats what how.. 26 times over. *yawn*
ok ok.. I'm going.. the scalekids are looking at me funny.. rat gassing time.
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Ack!! I forgot you have to prepare a buffet!! :giggle: Oh sure, just have something useful to do. Dangit. ;)
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
mmm rat buffet. :P i don't have to prepare quite that much on feeding day, but i do have to go through the list in my head each time to make sure i thaw the right amounts of each size rat. i look forward to the day that the list is too big to keep in my head and i have to go down a written check list instead! :D

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Ohhhh that would be cool!!! Of course, with my poor feeble brain, it could be any day now.
Oh well, I guess what I found. Eggs. Of course they're not bp eggs, but I have two nice crestie eggs. These are her first, and I'm trying not to freak out. I have them all settled, but I just have this feeling they aren't going to hatch. *sigh* I don't know why, but I'm just a spaz. It would be so awesome to have some crestie babies!!

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.

Chess? I used to play a bit in high school, but well.. I stink. :giggle: What type of math are you working on?
Congrats! When will you be getting the pair?

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Ack!!! :O I just noticed out most users went up to 372, at 5:59 pm tonight! WOW!!! :O

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
ack!!!!!!!!!!! and i missed it!!!
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
my math:
well second generation hypos (the ones that I would get after breeding the two hypos together) go for $400-$500 each. which means if the red tail has 20 babies (they have around 20-30 babies on average) that would mean a cluch would bring $40 k. a hypo bred with a hypo will (mathematically) yeild 25% super hypo's which go for $750 - $1000 each. I think I found my new profession. I really enjoy chess. its a thrill to play such a stratigic game that was played by such great generals as Ghangis Kahn and Alexander the great.
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
oh yea, and I should get the pair in six weeks when they're ready to be shipped.

And here I thought you working working out derivitives or something. :giggle:
I'm a checkers girl myself. I loved playing, but I got a pretty good at it and no one would play with me anymore. My talents do not extend into the chess arena. :wuv: Do you play chess with other people online or against a computer?
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
I play chess online and when I can find an aponent to play in person I will.
yea, I had my math final yesterday and I it turns out all I'll really need is addition, subtraction, and some multiplication.

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Snakes are fed.. yay. And yes, I do have a written checklist. I still manage to gas the wrong amount of rats sometimes though. ???
My jungle carpet is such a pig.. good thing. And her name is Fern.. I think it's a pretty name for a JCP. Ferns do carpet the jungle after all..
Ah I am rambling. Night guys.. off to read a bit then go to bed.

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Gassing rats???? De-gassing? Or are you feeding prekilled, April?????
I don't know how U do it with 25. I've come near to missing someone and I've only got the ten, but they are eating the entire gamut of sizes. < But I wouldn't have it any other way!!!! because it means I have the snakies I've always wanted! :pinkele: >
Christie, do U like to read??? Or do things like needlepoint/crochet/knitting???? I appreciate alone time when I get it, to do just "me time" things.
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.

Now I have to sleep and be at the swap at 9, well atleast theres a creek nearby, bring on the reptiles:partyon:

I'm guessing yes, on the prekilled. Although my track record tonight is not so good. :P
Yes I do like to read, but there's only so much of it I can do. Although I'm likely to do that for another half hour or so. Of course I could have done some more laundry and picked up toys, but ... I just didn't feel like it.

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Personally, I am quite glad for that mildly bored feeling at the moment. We had a big party for my 13 year old yesterday...swimming and everything. And all the girls stayed the night, too. Ohmygosh, who knew a pack of girls could be SO loud and rowdy??? I've been craving QUIET ever since the last one finally went home...and am finally getting some. :)

*GASP* :O Judy, my, where have you been dearheart????? U didn't know that they're one of the top screamer/giggling species around? :lmao:
Christie---No reason why you can't avoid the laundry and toys!!! Motherhood is a FT job, yes, but we need "vacation" and "do-nothingness" time too. I see it as a case where if I can take just a little bit of time for ME by doing nothing of the job, then I'll be recharged and can do a better job as mom for Robin. :)
Hope y'all sleep well and have a fantastic weekend!!! < What's left of it, anyway  >

are you incubating the eggs? it is not uncommon for a female's first clutch to be infertile, so if they don't hatch you can't blame that on yourself. i hope you get some babies!

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Right now Im working 36-48 hour weeks at work in 3-4 days a week, then coming home and working at least that many hours on building/cleaning/feeding snakes and rats :P
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Ooops I never finished my thought.... so Im not bored, but I have no life :P. But Im the one who made the choice, so I will sleep in the bed :). All of my racks are almost done, so I will have a brief rest from that soon.

We had pancakes for dinner last night. Glad Denny's hit the spot.
I'm incubating the eggs, but I had heard that it's not unusual for a first clutch to go bad. That's why I'm not attached to them. I'll be estatic if they hatch, but if they don't I won't be too surprised!! I'd love to hatch out some cool babies though. :D

Ack!! :O Oh my!! I think I would still be hiding under the bed ... terrified. Glad the party went well, and that everyone is in their own houses now. ;) I think it would take the rest of the week to recover from a stress like that.

Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
My big exciting accomplishment yesterday was that we got our wedding invitations sent yesterday...envelopes addressed and all the bits stuffed in and everything. Rick helped but he thinks he may have forgotten to put the stamp on the reply envelope on some of them. =P
And Cleo pooped, which is always good! Room for more MORE MOUSEY! She was very slithery and strong last night when we had her out...snake aerobics. =)
Carmen's been in shed all week so I've been aching to hold her. Hurry up and shed, will ya?! Can't wait to see if her color changes at all...=)

wait about a week and then candle them. if they look pink inside they are probably good but if they look yellow they are probably infertile. wait 2-3 weeks and candle them and if they are good you should be able to see some veining. if they are infertile--still yellow. don't throw them away though if you think they are infertile--keep those babies incubating until they are caved in, molded over, smell funny, etc.--basically until there is NO question. sometimes they surprise you. :)
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
Can do!!! :worship: I planned on keeping them until they are horribly odorous or I had babies. :psychotic

That is so not fair. We only got to do day trips to DC. Of course we lived 30 minutes from there. What was your favorite part of DC?
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
definitely the view of the washington monument from the lincoln memorial. i had lots of favorite parts though. like all the war memorials, espescially the vietnam memorial, and going to the custess mansion where robert e. lee used to live and seeing all those graves and the tomb of the unknown soldier. i even got to see audie murpheys grave! whatabout you?
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
I don't know if I have a favorite part. It just feels like home to me. My grandmother grew up playing in the capital building. I just thought that was super cool. I really enjoy the air and space museum though. I'll go with that. :D
-
Re: I'm bored, and have no life.
My favorite part of DC was the cherry blossoms!! Wow, DC is sooo pretty in the spring! Of course, the autumn leaves were pretty amazing as well, for someone who comes from the southwest. But those blossoms and other spring blooms....wow wow wow!
