Just about the most excited male snake I have ever seen....

Today I pulled my rosies (JR and Jewel) out of their cages to snap a few pics of them close together for a size comparison shot. Jewel is pregnant, and when them kids finally come, i want to keep some photo references so I can keep track of her belly size the next time I breed. I only put them together for a few minutes to snap a few pics, as not to stress the expectant momma out. Well, within a count to 20, JR started to court Jewel!!! ....and was he did next, was...well, unexpected and gross.....

...he then proceded to evert himself and(ejaculated?? produced sperm plugs??wha????) right on my black velvet cloth i have exclusively for taking snake photos!!!! At first I thought he was going to take a poop...but soon realized that that wasn't uric acid coming out of him!!!! Is it me or do some male snakes just have no ability to control themselves??!!!!

I know you guys are probably thinkin, eeeww!!!..and she took a picture!!! But I couldn't beleive it really happened myself..and my camera was already in hand....so I just had to take a pic. And to top it off, went in the snake room for a bit after dinner, and my leucy ratsnakes are gettin' it on!!!!!

Seriously though, that is really neat that you captured that! That is really fantastic!

hahahaha perhaps he's heard that with human babies... a little... um... a... well... stimulation helps to put the mama into labour... and he just wanted to help! :hump:

Rec godess, I'll take any help I can at this point to get that momma to pop them babies!!!!! ...wouldn't that be a hoot if she had em' within the next 24 hours.......

I agree Adam, Corona is the only way to go! But Guiness does have its draw on me from time to time too...

But back to the pics... Is that what I've been hearing about "sperm plugs"? I've never actually seen them so I'm unsure what to even look for... Is that what to be expecting? I figured just by the name that it would look something like that...
