    SCORE!!! (for a computer guy)
I thought I would share something amazing that happend to me today. Another forum that I am a part of that is specifically for notebook users recently had a contest. The lowdown is you had to refer new members and they had to make at least one good post...and they would be verified.

    The Prize:
    http://warrenreptiles.com/temp/contestheader.jpg

For those of you who don't know who Sager is they build custom notebook systems. They are comparable, and most cases are using the same hardware as Alienware systems.

    The WINNER:
    http://warrenreptiles.com/temp/winner.jpg

I was BLOWN AWAY...I mean this in all honesty when I say "I never win ANYTHING" ...I've just accepted that. The contest was based on referals. You could refer new people to sign up and they hade to make at least one "good" post. Everything was checked...we even had a guy spamming referals who is in some trouble atm. Anyway The first day I get my little circle of computer minded friends and tell them about the site. I get 5 referals in the first day or two...These are the ONLY referals I get the whole month, others where in the teens and some up over 20...I wasn't holding my breath, if I got a few more people to the site and they liked it cool...no loss as "never win anything" ...untill today

Its funny to...I JUST finished putting together a laptop for myself to take with me on a deployment coming up.

The site is www.notebookforums.com the...contest is over so no worries I am not trying to trick anyone into going there against their will. Just a wealth of information and knowledge if you ever need it or care to check it out.

    ~HAPPY SNAKE DANCE~

*if posting the site name is against any guidelines here I left it for last so it could be easily removed*

Sa-weet! Take both laptops with you and you can have your own lan parties!

Best thing I ever won was a king sized hand made and hand quilted Hawaiian quilt* from a raffle for one whole dollar.

*For those not familiar with Hawaiian quilts, they are usually a simple pattern, very-Rorschach test/snowflake, in 2 or 3 colors. "Snowflake" pattern is cut from a single piece of cloth and then sewn by made to the background piece, using a technique called "needle turning" (the edge of the fabric is folded under using a needle and then held down with your thumb and fore-finger while your other hand sews it down in place. Then Hawaiian quilts are quilted by hand with "echo" quilting. So, the king size quilt I have represents thousands of man hours...rawr...

ya this system kicks my home built desktop video card wise at least. I'll probably give my desktop to my wife since its fairly new and I finally convinced her to play WoW. I *should* be able to get along with this bad boy just fine ;)

LOL: at bringing both laptops...it crossed my mind. Although I would love to have this with me, I also consider the thought of it getting sand and grit all up inside of it overseas...but then I'd also have a kick butt laptop sitting at home for a year+ "wasting away". Oh the delemma's :)

Thanks for the congrats all, now all I need is for my het albino pair of BP's i've been raising (only about a year now) to magically become adults so I can breed them! -ya right!

So does my son - he is currently looking for CS 1.6 server hosting on the cheap. I'm going to frankenstein him a box from home but our connection will be saturated once an appreciable number of folks join. I've checked clanservers.com and a few others - but am totally lost on who'd be a good choice. Sure ain't cheap!

Tek or anyone else have any reccomends on the East Coast - hook a herper up, homies!

hrm, honestly I've never done hosting through someone other than myself :P While I do webhosting, I've ran some game servers in the past as well. Although those game servers where run in the off hours or durring the summer where I worked last and was the head of technology so I could get away with it :P

The community I mention above is starting a 1.6 team from what I've read, but if you guys are set on running your own through a host I'm not of much use for recommendations. I'm still debating on weather I want to purchase CS:S or not yet...well that and other things that are up in the air at the moment.

Not only cool that you won something, but even sweeter that you won something so awesome! I've been stuck with the same crappy five year old computer, it has trouble running anything bigger or prettier than Diablo 2 LoD :rainon: :P Oh man oh man, I would eat the most disgusting things to win that computer...*Droolz*

D2: LoD! one of the few games my wife even likes to play...great game. I'm still bouncing from the win. I'm sure it will take some time for them to paint it and ship it out. Now that I'll have two brand new laptops, I'm considering selling the two PC's I built that we have been using. Both laptops are more than capable of playing any games my wife is into...but the Sager is alllll mine! MINE! Will definately free up some space and lower power consumption not to mention portability.

Re: SCORE!!! (for a computer guy)
So I finally got this system...seems like it took forever but the wait was SO worth it. Its a higher model than the original listed prize system.

    Sager 5760 (original 5720)
T2600 2.16 core DUO (original was plain PM 2.13)
Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTX (original was 7800GTX)
The rest is the same as spec'd in the original prize:
    2gb ram
    80gb sata
    DVD RW

I'm installing XP on it now, don't like home. I can't wait to see what this baby is capable of. World of Warcraft should look gorgeous on this latest top of the line nvidia chipset.

    WOOHOO!
