new girl..........have breeding stock now for next season.......yippeeeeeee

I was a bad girl today. went out to get a couple of new bulbs and plants for my scalie babies and if luck wasnt with me then god was. A local breeder was getting rid of his stock and had for sale some very nice BP's. All males in a few enclosures and I went to the back and found this single female all alone and gorgeous. I looked at my wallet and went straight to the guy and said i would take her. She is almost 4 foot long and weighs in at a wonderful 1142 grams. I talked to him and he let me have her for 190 euro or about 250 dollars instead of 250 euro and around 300 dollars. He knew me and knew she would be given a very good home with me.

I took alot of pics and even asked my daughter to hold her for a pic. My daughter is just over 4 and a half feet tall and so you can get a good idea of this girls size. I am having trouble uploading from my camera and will have to get hubby to sort it but i have tons of pics to show you. now for the settling in period...........sniff sniff i wanna hold her. BUt i guess Beauty and unnamed female number 1 will have to do for now........lol If that doesnt help then I will go get out my BRB's and see if that helps.....lol

250$ WOW!!! Is it a special morph or something because that seems really expensive. I can get a normal for like 80$ here.

Can you get an adult female normal for $80? $250 seems fair to me for an adult female. I did only pay $50 for mine, but because she was a pet store surrender and they like to move the adults out since most people want babies. But if you were to look on Kingsnake for females with some weight on them, many people ask that much if not more for normal girls.

I guess i thought the babies and adults sold for the same. i havent researched any prices for adults because i cant get any more snakes and i like to watch my snakes grow up, so i will buy them as babies usually. sorry for the confusion.

this deal was in ireland right? i think the prices are higher in europe.

ps. adult females go for a premium, you have to have them!!!

$250 is perfect. i have a pet store near me that breeds pastels and spiders, and they have normal adult males for $150 and normal adult female for $250.

yeah $250 is a great deal for an adult female, the ones ive seen listed on KS are somewhat higher, although I have been able to find a guy here who will sell me them for $100:zerb:. Still thats a GREAT deal tho:rockon:

$250 is definitely a good price for a girl that size!

I'm about to buy a normal female about that size, but the person wants 300 and half of the shipping cost (30 bucks....yeesh) Kinda looking around still, hoping to find a little better deal.

Well put it this way....I have three adult females at that weight or more (1100, 1700 and 2200) and you couldn't touch one of mine for $250.00 LOL. Those girls are living gold to me and Mike.

Those are some fab lookin ladies!!! And pshht, $250 is a sweet deal for an adult girl!!!! WOW you got a great deal!!! and good luck with your rescues too! My best girl was a rescue, she is my fave!!! When I got her about four years ago, she was about 1600 grams and very thin...her owner only thought she only needed one mouse a week!!! 2650 grams and three clutches later, I beleive she has thanked me more than once for taking her away from that awful teenage boy!!

Most of my snakes are rescues. I have only ever truely bought for the buying of it this beautiful girl. The first girl i have that is pictured in the link on the first pic is a girl that I got in a "deal" with a owner who had her and a B and W tegu that were in really bad shape, and I thought i could give them a hell of a better home. so I offered the guy what I had in my wallet which was about 300 dollars for them both. UNfortunately the rest of his "collection" had to be put down because there was no way of saving them. He is currently having to go to court for Cruelty. BUt since I got her she has put on 300 grams in wieght and is starting to fill out. But the poor babies were so bad off with retained sheds and other problems I was afraid My good reputation for never losing any reprile in my care was going to go down the drain...lol BUt they are both doing well. And despite the Tegu not liking females at all and my having to do daily cleaning of his sores on his feet and belly he is doing well. I am the only one who is sporting war wounds......lol


I have even gone and converted my garden shed for setting up my own personal reptile rescue. BUt this girl im so glad I found as I can now be ready for next season. BUt im very proud of my scalie babies. And am glad you all like them.

Those poor animals....I just can't beleive people can be that cruel to such innocent creatures.....it breaks my heart to hear stuff like that. Glad he's going to court though...hope the justice system doesn't let us down.....As for your guys, glad they're doing well....so you're planning on breeding this season???? Im doing my best. and am glad I can do what im doing. I will post pics of my whole collection soon so all can see. but right now im sick with a bad cold and am going to spend the day in bed where i belong.....lol

All the scalies are fed and happy, and now im off. and again im glad you all like my new baby.
