Eggs!!!!

i got EGGS! finally! i am SO excited right now! i found matilda curled around 8 eggs this morning. all appear good with lots of veining when candled. :party: :D :pinkele:

here she is, with her clutch. she was bred to oscar, my orange ghost.

is she super protective of her eggs, how long will it take them to hatch?? is there certain conditions in the habitat that have to be met for them to hatch right? btw, nice looking bp!

was it hard to remove the eggs?

did she kick that "boob" egg out? i thought those could still be good and you can even see them developing as they go sometimes.

she kicked out the boob egg and another egg that is behind her. both eggs look good though and i can see lots of veining in them so we'll see. she wasn't hard to remove from the eggs at all--she was still pretty tired from laying. i basically just unwrapped her and put her in an empty tub while i collected the eggs and put them in the incubator.

Huge Congrats!!! I see the one egg has a window on it. Keed an eye on that one, If it gets bigger just give it a poof of liquid bandage.. It will heal up in no time..

Congrats Emily, I'm so pleased for you! These are your first BP eggs, correct? Matilda did a beautiful job (as did good old Oscar awhile back obviously).

yes! these are my FIRST bp eggs. :D interestingly enough, matilda and oscar were the pair that i wasn't sure would produce because oscar is still on the small side, but that obviously wasn't a problem for the little man. :)

congrats on the eggs, im trying to picture in my head what it would be like to pull out a tub and see them coiled around a nice clutch of eggs, next years the year!!!!

Hahaha at Jaime about taking time off.....hmmm...wait a minute, next year I get an extra week of PTO - and Sarah might be ready to breed this season - I was just wondering on the way home what I'd do with the extra week - now I know! LOL

i'd LOVE to take a week off of work to watch and take care of the hatchlings--but hopefully by then i'll have a new job so i don't know if i'll be able to do that. no matter though, because i'll have BABIES!
