There was an MSN portal story one day on burms in the everglades featuring a picture of a BP. Knew I should have screenshot that one. You have to love the "same thing they are all snakes" mentality you're greeted with if you try to steer them towards accuracy.

Wow....that's hysterical and pathetic all rolled into one. I mean, I don't expect your average Joe to be able to tell what species a snake is on sight...but if you're gonna report to the general public about something, by golly, take 30 seconds to do an Internet search and check your facts.

the lack of fact checking in our media is insane. i cant believe that this was published. it's sad because stories about snakes are not the only ones to be this far off from fact.

I love it. My boyfriend who isn't as into snakes as I am KNOWS the difference. I swear. These people are a bunch of morons.
No wonder I stopped reading/watching most of the news.

My thoughts exactly!! I'm into snakes but my wife most definitely isn't, although she feigns interest sometimes just to appease me I think. But she would most definitely be able to tell a BCI from an anaconda at a glance!! Which, that may be, in part, due to the fact that no matter where I see a snake of any kind I say, "Hey, look at that ______!! Isn't that just awesome?!" There for a while she was giving these blank nods but she's beginning to have an actual opinion on how they look... Well, besides saying "Yup, it's a snake..."
I'm slowly brainwashing her!! :grouphug:

You dog's a cutie! My question is what kind of snake owner leaves their BCI in a house when they plan to burn it down? And what kind of idiot can look at that picture and think that's a 50 lbs. snake? :confuzd:
