New Reptile Product
My company is considering getting in the reptile business. If you could have any reptile product, what would it be?
Here is my list:
affordable enclosures
modular enclosures
affordable lighting / heating
food service (rats on a normal schedule)
Pre-made enclosure that have a place for all needed lighting, H2o bowl and heat pad.
Self cleaning enclosure
affordable handling gear (i.e. $20.00 for a HQ snake hook, not $70.00)
Healthcare software (feeding notes, Dr. Visits etc).

Re: New Reptile Product
....a inexpensive quality rack system for housing bearded dragons.

Re: New Reptile Product
A heating element with an attached thermostat would be really neat. (I know I can get one, but not at a store *No Credit card* :P ) I love the idea of preset enclosures, with everything that you need, but there would be so many different kinds.

.....an smaller size(3-4 clutch) reliable incubator with a Helix/Herpstat thermostat for python eggs....all the reptile egg incubators are big......and all the small incubators available are for chickens...

Re: New Reptile Product
Ok back to original topic..
Some things that I would love.
affordable cages (same or cheaper than boaphile) that are easy to clean.. the plastic that boaphile has likes to hold on to stuff way too much.. something less matte and more glossy/shiny would be good I think.
inexpensive racks - can't beat this with a stick!
-
Re: New Reptile Product
Stylish (okay, so they don't have to be POSH, but something more than just plastic from Melmar) cages that are AFFORDABLE!! (And a stand to go along with 'em! I want to put more in my livingroom.)
How about the UTH w/the thermostat included/attached? Or scheduled delivery of rats? Now that I'm adding to the family, I'm sure my stash isn't going to last long. :D

Re: New Reptile Product
I think some innovation would be great. Maybe some sort of practical, affordable (that's the keyword for everything, isn't it?) humidifying system for humid-loving critters kept in dry environments. Something that would have versions for either single cages, or rack systems.
Also, a reliable, simple resevior system for automatically watering rodent racks. I know folks have mentioned buying these in the past, but such mention inevitably comes with a story of floods or blockages or somesuch. LOL

Re: New Reptile Product
I think some sort of automatic humidifier system is an untapped niche. Something that allows you to set the percentage of humidity, senses the humidity with a good sensor and then mists periodically to keep the humidity at a certain level, while having the misting apparatus NOT in the enclosure.
I'd buy that.

Re: New Reptile Product
I'm in the market for a well built, clean looking incubator that is lightweight, and can hold 3-4 clutches of BP eggs, as well as several leo clutches that runs off a proportional tstat. All I've been able to find are incubators in the $500+ range, or a $30 hovabator that is only good with a quality tstat.
Simple to run plug and play design, and inexpensive, yet quality is the key! There is nothing that I treasure more than my leo eggs or future BP eggs especially when it comes to breeding morphs. We need an incubator for the hobby/small-time breeder!

Re: New Reptile Product
Sweet, thanks!
I still think another producer of incubators would be great, competition is a good thing!
