online games
okay how many heavy online gamers out there? I am thinking about getting into the new D&D game instead of going back to Ac. When i finally get around to upgrading this old computer, now that i have high speed and can hope to acutally keep a game going with out monster lag. So has anyone tried it yet?

Re: online games
I played Dark Age of Camelot for a couple of years. Still have active accounts that my hubby logs on from time to time...but I have a feeling they'll be closing down for good soon.
That's the only MMORPG I've ever tried, and likely ever will try. Was extremely addictive and sucked a LOT of hours of my life! LOL
I have not heard good things about D&D from my DAOC friends who have tried it, but they tend to be rather picky and critical of stuff like that anyhow. I imagine it will be one of those set-ups that you either really like or really hate.

Re: online games
I have to live vicariously through the kids as far as games go anymore - time is money as they say and both are in short supply.
They are fairly well versed and they said it was liek Guild Wars but took forever to progress, plus cost a monthly fee and the thing they kvetched about the most was it was all indoor stuff. So far they liked EQ2, DAOC and Planetside and didnt like WoW or D&D.
Hehe - DAOC was a blast - I had time back then!

Re: online games
From what I have heard, if you are a power gamer who is all about the race to max level and how much "Phat Lewt" you can find, then you will hate the new on-line D&D game.
I played most of the games, EQ, DAOC, WoW, COH etc... my WoW account is still active but I rarely have time to play anymore.
If you liked AC you would probably enjoy WoW more than D&D, just depends on your play style.

Re: online games
I was a DAOCer as well and im fairly disappointed with the selection of MMO's on the market. However Warhammer Online is coming out in January and it looks awesome. Its being produced by Mythic, the same ones that made DAOC. Lookin forward to that one...

Re: online games
World of warcraft is horrbile. Its so addicting prepare to give up alot of your free time into it and even some of you not-so-free time. It is, however, one of the best games ive ever played and by far the best mmorpg out there IMO.

EQ for several years as aPaladin, and then quit, ditched that account, couldnt get it back, and started up as a few different characters until I ran a monk to lvl 70 with 40aa in about 8 days played :P

Re: online games
Cool deal.
Our middle son is a FPS savant with some ungodly ranking - plays BF2, CS, DoD and some others - for his birthday he wants a <8ms flatpanel and a LAN party lol. I think the last game I played at great length was Planetside - but it was easily the funnest online experience I'd ever had. I am impressed we have so many folks here who game - tres cool!
