If it looks like she is comfortable in it, sure. I can't really picture the dimensions of a tank that big. Do you mind measuring them and posting them on here?

It just sounds really heavy to heave around and clean out!

"Wow Grandma, what big arms you have!"

--Sorry been reading Little Red Riding Hood for the last week. LOL.

That should be okay for now. If she decides to keep growing (who is to know on that topic) then you might need a bigger one.

PS: Where is the pics? NEED PICS! Love the Boas!

i fed a jumbo rat today he killed and ate it verry well. i dont know what that guy was talking about hibernation. from here on out i will pree kill i just like seeing them eat a live the first time they eat for me. lets me know they are in good shape and all is well.

    thanks for the help.

p.s if he is underweaight and you were trying to rebuild him how much would you feed a 7 ft red tail?

PS.s still trying to figure out if it is a male of female. you can see the spurs without looking for them they stick out all on there own that makes me think it is a boy from what i have read. let me know your opinions.

My larger female has big spurs, so that is not a very good way to tell.

A jumbo rat or two every other week should be good. A snake that large should probably only eat every other week. Does the rat leave a lump at all, I am guessing not (but whos to say without those pics...hint hint hint). ;)

no lump at all. sorry i will go get a new memory stick for my cam this weekend. and try to post. i cant wait till i get him/her up to a good weaight. i dont know if this is true with reds but with ball pythons a good way to tell if they are i good shape is not being able to see wrinkels when the bend is that true. mine has a lot of them witch makes me think he way under weaight. it is 7 ft and only as big around as my fist.

    thanks for the help.

For a male, that might not be too bad...a little weight might be good though. I'd go to a rabbit farm (if you have any near ya) and pick up one "for a pet" that is a little bigger than your fist for the next meal.

Re: what size tank for a 7 ft red tail
i was a little bit worried about him being a little hard to handle. but he is just a big babby i can hold him and he actually seems to enjoy it. if i put him on the ground he will slither right back to me (proably for heat but i chose to believe that he likes me.hahah) i couldent be happyer with the hole deal i got with him. i named him or her Red (real orignal). i will post pics soon with all my other critters.

    thanks

Re: what size tank for a 7 ft red tail
all he needs is 1 rat a week if u want to control his size a bit if u start doing rabbits he will keep growing til about 10 ft or depending whether it is male or female but. but my 6ft is happy with 1 rat a week.

Re: what size tank for a 7 ft red tail
i want him/her to grow to its full potential so should i feed rats or rabbits or 2rats. i think rats are easyer for me to kill than a rabit. i just club rats over the head. this is no problem for me because rats are ugly but rabbits are so cute. but i could do it if it ment my lil guy would get bigger. what do you think?
