I do not know pic do not do him justice with the camera I am using but he looks like a pastel to me. He has the green eyes and wait till you see the other pics! When I get a better camera or when i breed him I will find out.

Those pics really DO NOT do him any justice at all. He looks so much better than that in person.

Definitely just a normal, he looks quite dark from the pictures...even in photographs pastels look like, well....pastels. It might not be the true colors, but its going to be awful close.

From the pictures he looks dark because i couldnt use flash or else i would just get a white pic for some reason. I showed my mom the pic and she said" the pic is really dark of him. He looks so much brighter in his cage."

Maybe he is just a very very very nice high gold in person. I bet in person he is prettier then some pastels well the ugly pastels. He is starting to get some blushing on his back with each shed. Also he keeps on getting more and more gold scales on his bell with each shed and his flames are turning gold. I think hes an odd ball. We will see this coming season though as he is producing sperm plugs!

I agree he is a normal, but a very pretty one! I like his pattern.

Try taking a picture of him with one of your other BPs. He may be a light colored (high gold) BP.. there is a lot of variation in normals.

I can assure you your BPs are normal. Nice normals, but still normal. It's VERY rare that anyone gets a morph and they don't know it.

The guy i got her from owns the sheboygan herp society www.sheboyganherpsociety.com . He told me that she is 50% het albino and was purchased in daytona from his friend. While his friend had it it never ate. He got it and got it to eat. I dont believe it is 50% het albino just for the fact I have no paper work. She looks like a yellow bell to me. She has the insane flames and her belly looks kind of yellow. I will wait for the big man to step in to the ring ( Adam) ROTFLMAO! Sorry I just had some excitement.

I'm sure Adam will tell you the same thing April did...nice normals.

Whats the deal with the flood of newbs lately thinking they have certain "morphs?"

Even a relatively subtle morph, such as a pastel, is unmistakable even to the uneducated eye. I've shown my collection to people who know nothing about snakes AT ALL and even they can pick out the "different" looking one.

It could be a pastel sibling.I have seen a few sibs that just missed getting the gene and they looked very nice also.Like everyone is telling you though you have some nice looking normal ball pythons.

Thank you everyone. Would it be right for me to sell him at higher price since his colors are so nice and is a hgih gold? If he is just a normal I really dont want him because I could use a pastel instead of him. Thanks for the help

Not really....I bought my high gold male for $30 and have seen them at shows being sold as high golds for as low as $25.

But if you were to see him in person you would probably think that he is a gorgeous male. I think I am going to sell him so I can get some money to either get a pastel male or help pay off my pair of '05 het yellow blush albinos. Anyone want him?

OK Andre - I'm just in a silly mood - so I couldn't resist pointing this out! LOL

Seriously though - he's a beautiful normal male. I don't think that you could get much for him - since he's just that - a normal. Doesn't make him any less special for you.

Kashmire was my first ball python - he'll never be in my breeding plans (at least not if you ask me today - who knows what I might dink with later). But Kashmire will always have a home with me - because he's that special to me.

Also Sullivan (who is my avatar) is a normal male. He has insane blushing - but he's "just" a normal. But he's special to me - and if I could re-produce his blushing - that would be awesome!

If you love him as much as I think you do from your comment that I quoted - you don't have to get rid of him.

If your only reason for selling him is to raise money for a pastel - his sell price would only be a small percentage of what you'd pay for a pastel, not enough to really even make a dent. Sorry!

I guess what I was trying to say - but didn't do very well - was - I don't have a need for either one of my normal males. However - they are both very special to me, and I plan to keep them. And I honestly - if you asked me today - would not trade them for anything. Not because of any monetary value on them, but because they are that special to ME.

So, if you have the space, and YOU like him - why sell him? You might be able to get $50-$100 for him at best.

My point from my quoting you was it sounded like he was really special to you - not just because you thought he was a pastel.

Yeah he is special to me but i will keep him unless someone wants him.
