    Have U Seen This???
MSNBC.com has a video article for a new movie that's to be released soon....."Snakes on a Plane".

GREAT!!!!! Just what the hobby DOESN'T NEED!!!!!!! :zerb: Enough ppl out there have misconceptions and phobias about snakes, and reptiles in general, and now there's going to be a horror movie about being trapped on a plane w/snakes??!??? Oh, and BTW, did I mention they're deliberately doing and putting in gorier scenes in order to get an 'R' rating to get to a bigger audience?????

AAAAAAARGGGGH!!!! Those of us who REALLY care, and want to do right by these creatures don't need THIS type of tripe!!!!!

    Okay, I'm done now. :soapbx:

Too bad Mystery Science Theater 3000 isn't still on the air. Sounds like a great candidate.

This film isn't produced/directed by Bert I. Gordon is it? I watched the MST3K version of his film "Earth vs the Spider" today.

JASBALLS - hope you don't mind!

I'm not sure who directed it. Maybe someone else can listen to the story and catch that info.

Yeah, MST3K was a HOOT!!! This would probably be a prime candidate for it, if it weren't sooooo scary in that ppl will see it, and then be even MORE freaked over the giant boids, and other snakes.

    :sigh2:

*edit* I did the reply before seeing T's pic.

OMFG! That is tooooooooooooo funny!!!!!! ROTFLMFAO

I found some info on Fandango.com

    http://www.fandango.com/MoviePage.as...ce=moviesearch

    Release Date: August 18, 2006
Cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Benjamin McKenzie, Nathan Phillips
    Director: David R. Ellis
    Genre: Action/Adventure, Horror, Suspense/Thriller
Synopsis: An assassin lets loose a bunch of lethal snakes on board a passenger plane cruising over the Pacific Ocean. He hopes the venomous creatures will kill a witness in protective custody. Meanwhile, the first-time pilot and the scared passengers must join together in order to survive.

    This site has a trailer:
    http://www.movieweb.com/movies/film/05/3005/summary.php

Looks like a lot of computer animated snakes. One I thought was a milk snake, but it was red/white/black/white/red 000000000000000000000000

Milk snakes seem to be red/black/white/black/red. Is the red/white/black/white/red a phony coloration for snakes?

Anyhow, the snakes were moving waaaay too fast for being on a plane wich probably has a cabin temperature around 70 degrees.

And I also found this while searching for "Snakes on a Plane". A bunch of spoof trailers for "Snakes on a Plane"

And AGAIN! Jesus Christ. I'd love to just take my kids out to a park and force people to realize JUST how wonderful snakes can be. Movies like this and even documentaries that over-dramatize snakes ruin this hobby for us.

I know and I agree, this DOES NOT help!!!!! I have had a lot problems with people and their unreasonable ideas and what they think is the truth, since I started keeping tarantulas last year. The basics of it is fear. They are uneducated and if you fear something, you make it the villian, then your fear is justified. All we can do is continue to educate those around us. In the course of the last year I have turned a handful of friends completely around concerning spiders. One of my friends even owns one now!!!!!! I plan on doing the same thing with my BP. Go slow, show pictures, talk about it, and prove that those silly movies are wrong. Do you remember a really bad sci/fi horror movie that came out in the late 70's and was titled, "Sssssssssss"? It is the stupidest thing I've ever seen, but it started my sister on a life time of fearing snakes. If one stupid movie can change peoples minds, we can change them back with facts.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That MST3K shot is awesome!!

As for the movie...yeah, I've been hearing of it for quite awhile now. There's another thread around here that has a link to an actual trailer video for it. Amazingly stupid looking. Beyond stupid, even. Hopefully the title alone will convince people that this movie doesn't even deserve to be called a "B flick."

I'm guessing that 90% of the filming budget went to pay Sam's salary...to convince him to do this idiocy. 8% of the budgent went to computer graphics, and the rest went to actually putting the movie together. Someone forgot to pay the screen writer and whoever it was that was supposed to come up with a real title.

BTW...so far as I know, a red/white banded snake would be a coral snake...but I watched the trailer and they are definitely using some milksnakes in there as well...and in the trailer, I didn't see a single snake acting remotely like I expect a real snake would, even if it were truly in such a scary environment.

.........that's what this thing is, a horror flick for snakes!! Can you imagine being let loose on a plane where it's cold and vibrating ferociously? With hundreds of screaming humans trying to squish you??

Maybe, but like JAWS frightened ppl so bad they'd never swim in the ocean again....this thing is just going to make our lives THAT MUCH MORE difficult as a hobby.

:sigh2: The saddest part is, as long as ppl PAY for this garbage, Hollywood will continue to MAKE it, whether it's horror, gore, sex or any of that other :puke:

    Re: Have U Seen This???
Guys, are ya'll really taking this seriously?
Its going to be the biggest joke movie of the year- i guarentee you that 90% of the people that go to see it are ONLY going to see it because of the internet back story:
Snakes on a Plane was just kind of the .. temp name for the movie, they were going to change it and S.L.J said pretty much if you change the name I quit filming. So they stopped production for a while. Internet junkees (and i use the term lightly because i am one) found out about it, cut scenes up and made this big internet joke about Snakes on a Plane. They made alternate endings, miniscripts, flash parodies and etc. This was before the movie was even finished. So, when everyone realizes HEY its a BIG thing on the internet- they go back, edit it SPECIFICALLY to be as retarded as it looks to meet internet expectations so to speak. This movie is basically a big joke. Several people expect it to be a 'cult classic' like pulp fiction simply because it is, infact, so retarded.
But this is all hearsay. And i've wondered why i've heard the expression Snakes On A Plane on places like SomethingAwful & etc. Its just a big spoof.
    Promises.

Edit Edit: Pulp Fiction Ref: It will be a big thing with several people, but general pulic, probably not. Thats what i ment.

This looks like one of the dumbest movies ever; I'd rather watch reruns of Seinfeld.

    Re: Have U Seen This???
    Eh. my :2cent:
really the movie is supposed to be as retarded as it looks. any movie go-er that actually takes it seriously.. which... i honestly dont see how you can, isnt going to decide "oh well i hate snakes thanks to this movie".
Either you like snakes or you don't. Snakes On A Plane is just a big internet hooplah that is basically making fun of how stupid movies can be.
I know i'm defending it, but seriously folks- this isnt Anaconda. Its not actually ment to be a horror film imho.

well if people take that movie that portrays snakes in a bad way seriously and it gets too much out of hand with people starting to be terrified of snakes and wanting them illegal then pretty soon we're gonna have to get permits for our BP's and corn snakes.

the people in politics waste enough time passing laws against snakes and reptiles that we dont need any more bad publicity. in some cities you already cant own ANY reptiles and i for one dont want that to happen all over the country.

the US is actually pretty lucky that reptiles arent illegal already with all the dumb @$$ people that get reptiles knowing nothing "just because they're cool". these reptiles get out or are released and some can be dangerous, espescially big boids and varanids and all that survive because of the area they are released in and impact the natural ecosystems. so then they are made illegal because some idiot didnt want to research and properly look after his reptile.
