Good Morning VA!!!

i'm stoked this morning, woke up to one of my big girls laying eggs! watch a few come out. it is really an awesome expierence to see nature at work. she's been laying since 6am. i've checked on her about 20 times! lol
she's not done yet...

mle, she was bred to my pastel.

this girl was a monster feeder and messed up her tub 2-3 times a week, turned over the water bowl every other day. but you know what, this makes all that cleaning worth every bit!

she's just about done. i'm going to give her a little time to work the eggs. last count is 12. she may have one hidden from in her coils? there are a few you can't see in the pic.
in jan. she weighed in at 2740 grams.

I think that's almost as painful a wait! Ophelia's got another year or so and some serious weight to put on before then. That, and I need to find a male. Hn. I wonder if I can talk Vaughn into lending me a male and...yeah. VAUGHN! I'm calling you tonight. AH!

she's done! 13 eggs in all. they all look good. keeping my fingers crossed they all hatch.

(princess) my 4 yr old named her! is doing great. she took a small rat today. 13 eggs, all look good. i purchased her last year at 1700 grams, she ate like crazy for me and got up 2700 grams at breeding season. i only feed once a week, but some get multiples at that time. this was her first clutch, the guy i bought her from bought her as a juvie and raised her for a bit. if she doesn't put all her weight back on i'll just skip a year with her, worst case she'll be huge the next season! watching her from start to finish was very cool!!!
