    Beauty the BP
A small intro. ANd a thank you to RABERNET
Hello My name is Beauty the BP. I have owned a BP since August and he was a rescue that stole my heart. I have since done my best to rescue all I can and if I cant give them a home with me I try to find them good homes. I have owned everything from corns to BP's and anoles to Green basilisks. My reptile faily consists of Beauty my 4 foot BP, Bollicky Bill the green basilisk, butthead the green anole, Candy and cane my 2 corn snakes, and My breeding pair of BRB's. I will in the next weke be getting 3 lovely lady BP's for my breeding stock and mabye another male BP. And then a B and W Tegu that is 3 and a half feet long. Then there is my spare room that I have dedicated to my rescues. in there there are half a dozen bearded dragons, 2 water dragons, a small nile monitor, and various snakes from corns to bull snkaes. £corns, 1 Bull, 2 rat snakes, and a pure white king snake.

I live in Ireland where it is illegal to feed your reptiles live, so I have had to improvise with that and begin my own reptile food program ( breeding my own rats and mice for rep food) I also breed my own crickets for the lizards, and meal worms.

I do my best to do right by these guys and have yet to lose a reptile in my care. Even my oldest daughter has followed in my love for reptiles and has decided she wants to be a reptile vet when she is old enough.

I hope to learn new things here and also hope that any advise I can offer will help you.

    Best regards,
    beauty the BP

Rabernet was actually the one who talked me into coming here. I absolutely adore the people here and they're great at giving good, sound advice. I think they love your kids almost as much as you do. ^_^

    Hope you enjoy yourself.

Welcome to BPNet and glad you found us (with help from our dear Robin lol). There's a number of members from the UK so that will be nice for you to network over there about the best vets, breeders, etc.

It's wonderful that you do rescues! So many need rehoming and good care and unfortunately most people still believe that herps just aren't responsive so don't need to be cared for much (imagine believing that snakes can't feel pain! makes me nuts! LOL)

Please feel free to jump right in. We love pics and if you need help sorting out how to resize them for forum use or use your gallery to link pics from, please just holler out for help. The Admins and Mods are here for you and generally one of us is always available in the forum as well as by PM, in AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or by email. Any concerns or questions, please let us know.

I live in the sunny south east of ireland. I have three children ages 12,8,and 7. Thye love the reptiles almost as much as I do.

All my rescues get my all. And If I need to I will go a long way to go get the babies that need my help. I just hope I can pass on useful help out here and can learn new things in the process. I am doing my best to get things out here sorted so that I can actually open a real rescue center for our scalie friends. All I can say to me is I do my very best and give each and everyone of my babies and the new friends they get my all. Sometimes it means I eat mac n cheese or romen noodles for a week but it is well worth it in the ernd. I even have an agreement with the local vet here and get free vet care for all the babies.

Lets see If I have a good BP story.........Well I have one that is funny and includes the basic BP joke.

A couple of weeks ago I was At the vets and this guy comes in and sits next to me. The next thing I know I see this very tiny BP head poke out from his pocket...........I then asked the poor guy " is that a Ball in your pocket or are you happy to see me........lol He was so shocked that I could Identify the snake at a glance and we had a good laugh. The poor hatchling had an infected yolk sack and needed antibiotics.I gave the guy a leaf of my aloevera plant and told him to use it with the meds the vet gave him and he got hold of me a few days ago and siad the little guy was 100% better. So I felt good.

    TTYL,
    Regards,
    Beauty the BP
