Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
So I've had Jane for about a month and a half, and since then she hasn't shed. Just now, she poked her head out of her hide and started pushing the floor/substrate of her viv with her head. The skin around her neck looks wrinkly, it didn't look like this yesterday.
Her eyes don't look blue or glazed over, though..is it possible she's in shed?

Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
it is very possible. snakes will only go into blue for 1 or 2 days and then become clear again. they will shed a week or less after that. maybe you just missed him/her in her blue stage. so i would leave him/her alone for a couple of days and see what happens.
Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
If she's in shed, I'm going to be ridiculously excited.
She just went back into her hide (a rock cave) and she's rubbing against the inside of it now.
I'm crossing my fingers:D

Although, now it is official, Jane is in shed!
And so far, so good, old skin is down to her neck, including eye caps!

Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Okay Guys, better watch out! The snake disease is spreading rapidly!!!!!!! ROTFLMBO :lmao:
Here's another poor victim succumbing to the addiction! Canceling the evening plans to watch a snake squiggle out of it old skin! :D :D :D
;) It's okay Karen. You're in the RIGHT place. Not too many other places where you can squeal excitedly over dead skin, oooh and ahhh over snake poo and revel in the fact your snake finally ate its FT mouse after 3 months, and U didn't have to brain it for him. And everyone understands and celebrates WITH you. :pinkele:
Welcome to the madhouse. :handshake: Just WAIT, you're hooked and now you're going to want more and more snakes.....Better plan on that rack now.
hee hee hee hee hee:P

Uhhhh-yeppp,
I started w/just one a year ago, just because I had wanted a snake for over 20 years, and now I'm making payments on my SEVENTH! It is such a FUN hobby and so EASY to get hooked!

Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Congrats on the shed! Remember to check Jane afterwards and make sure it all came off cleanly, especially the tip of her tail and eyecaps (though sounds like those are already clear).
You know you're a herper when....you cancel your social life because you're snake is in shed and you can't understand why your friends don't get it! you can't leave! the snake is shedding for the first time! geesh! LOL
Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Wow, you've got the addiction bad. Canceling plans to watch shedding. If you ever plan on breeding you're going to lose most of your friends! I watched eggs hatch for 18 hours straight. LOL
Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Congratulations on the shed. I haven't been lucky enough to actually catch Monty shedding yet. He seems to do it either in the middle of the night, or during the day when I am at work. I will check--no shed. Then I come back, there it is rolled up like a nylon in the corner of the hide.
Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Yaayyyyy Karen! (And Jane!!) :bounce: Don't we love it when another one comes over to the slithery side of the fence??? Congrats on the shed!!
Re: Acting funny? Maybe in shed?
Welcome to the club :) I had to limit myself to 4 (3 BPs and one BCI) for space and fiance'e-keeping reasons, lol.
What plans could be funner than sitting around watcing yer new little snake shed?
