Couple of pics of Mort the 'conda
Mortimer was such a good boy today. Didn't try to bite once, though it was hard to get him to sit still for the camera.

He's right around 6' long now. Probably won't get much bigger.. if at all. He's really very good natured. A bit nervous, but he wasn't handled much by the previous owner.

Yes Jo.. he is Lurch's daddy.

And BP&Dragon.. there are four species of anaconda, two of which are common in the reptile trade.. Eunectes murinus which is the green anaconda - these are the monsters.. and eunectes notaeus - the yellow anaconda. Mort is a yellow. Males are MUCH smaller than females. Males average 6-8' in length, while females are normally in the 10-12' range.

He's still a crusty face, but that's what you get for soaking in hard water.

I love my condas.. as long as you have some larger boid experience and don't mind getting bit sometimes (at first at least) they're awesome animals. Just do your research first!

Yes he is. He's one of those gentle slowly open his mouth and drag the rat to his hidey hole so you can't see me kind of eaters. All three of the condas are shy feeders..

Since they are a boa, they are livebearers. I got to see a 300lb green anaconda have her babies once.. that was so cool.
