Quick Story
Just a quick true story before I hurry off erranding, but my friend Jess was telling me about a conversation she had with a young woman about feeding her snake -I believe a bp. This girl works at a Petco, amusingly (or sadly) enough, somewhere in AZ.
The girl was talking about she had tried to get her snake to take frozen prey but finally gave up as it seemed all he would take was live. This of course didn't sound at all unusual or strange, and Jess decided to joke with her.
"Did you try defrosting it?"
*dead serious* "Defrost it?"
"... yes, defrost the frozen (mouse, rat, I don't remember)."
"Oh, you're supposed to defrost them?"
:omg: "...Yes."
I can only imagine her poor lil BP staring at his ratcicle like "Quoi?" :confuzd: Good thing she gave up and started feeding him live!

I'm just... so impressed that defrosting never even occurred to her. I mean... for seriously.

I think saying Petco sucks is a fair statement. If you have ever worked there you would see the mass death of newly delivered animals and the subsequent horrible conditions most are kept in. That said, there are some quality people who work at Petco stores around the country. Unfortunately its the exception rather than the rule.

Re: Quick Story
Did she perhaps totally miss the T for thawed part of the F/T thingie???? LOL Poor snake! I swear what my hubby says is right....there should be a law that the human owner must have at a minimum 3 more working brain cells than whatever critter they want to own!

Re: Quick Story
points down at the qoute in my signature that kinda says it all. On the other hand it does amaze me that someone that gifted manages to get up each morning and make it to work at a store where pets are sold. Maybe she doesn't feed them at work but i would guess at some point the store feeds its snakes might it have been to much to ask a fellow emoployee how to properly feed the snake you bought. Never mind its a pet store ours sold Ruai to a girl that had never owed a snake before and was afraid of rats.
