I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
So I still have 3 males that wont eat. 1 is at 1 month (no big deal) and 2 are at 3 months. It is maddening! They slither in the other direction at the sight of a rat. Not cool! :cens0r:

Hang in there! Kashmire is fasting again also. I've GOT to get that boy into a tub. Sometimes I wonder if I'm sending negative vibes - I bet he's not gonna eat, I bet he's not gonna eat - please eat!!!
No worries about any of my others eating. I wish consistent warm temps would get here already!

Crank up your temps! Warm = happy = hungry
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
my snakes are starting to feed again now. vanessa took a rat tonight. too bad i only got one because i thought they both wouldn't eat so zulu went without a rat offered to him today, because the place closed before i could get another one. ill just have to offer it to him tomorrow, i hope he eats. good luck with your males Jamie. i know how frustrating it could be.
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
Gah, I'm sorry Jamie! I hope they get feeding soon, Neptune just refused his second rat in a row in favor of cuddling Mr. Fuzzington. Frustrating. :( Bleh... someone needs to explain to your boys that they're stressing you out so they'll clean their plates!

Oh they're cranked alright! The room stays at 82 and the heat is close to 95. Its funny how they actually seemed scared of the rat these days.
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
How about changing things around a little bit? Maybe using a different substrate might help. How about a live rat?(if ur not opposed to feeding live that is)
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
I will prob try live next week for the 2 that havent eaten in 3 months. Thanks Raj!
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
I know how your feeling Jamie. My two are off feed, one since October, the other since Late December. Cranked up the heat....still nothing, though Monty, the one who has been off since October, did act like he wanted to eat mr. rat last thursday but just ended up chasing the rat out of his warm hide and balling up once he got him out. He stalked him for 5 minutes or so like he was going to nail him but he never did. Guess he just didnt want the rat in his hide. My other, Cheetah, just balled up as soon as he saw the rat. I know they will eat eventually when they are ready. This is the third year in a row for Monty going off feed, so now I just dont let it bother me.
Sending feeding vibes your way!
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
Thanks dude! I am just wondering what is behind what looks like fear of a food item that they used to love. Its not like they just act disinterested, but they quickly head in the opposite direction.
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
How about the crumpled up newspaper trick? This, coupled with a live rat may yield you some results.
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
I feel your pain Jamie. This is week 4 and still he runs at the site of prey...:O. I know my temps got bumped a bit in the wrong direction when I had to move them into the rack, convincing myself this is the reason for the off fed behavior. Though the others respond in what seems like 1/2 a second... FRUSTRATING, but such is the life of the scaled ones.
Re: I got the non feeding bluuueeees!
Well after getting me all happy by feeding Thursday before last, Saoirse turned her nose up at a lovely juicy live little rat this past Thursday! I coulda cried...dang snake :( Not only that but Rionach and Kyna decided that eating was optional last Thursday too! blech
Of course Mr. Mal immediately snarfed down his two rat pups and I believe was offering to help the ladies with theirs when we closed his lid back up LOL. I swear Malachi knows that males breed at 800 grams and he's valiantly striving to get there as fast as possible ;)
Oh well, there's always this Thursday.....:sigh2:
