The "new guy"
Hey all,
I've been perusing the site now for a while since Adam (I believe there's only one infamous Adam around here https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...ies/tongue.gif ) told me about it a week ago, and I figured it was nigh time I introduced myself. I've been a herp freak my entire life, but was bitten by the BP bug in 2002 when I bought my first ball. I was floored by the beauty of the myriad of morphs out there, and spent a couple years dreaming and drooling until I finally got up enough gumption to drop some money on some morphs in 2004 (thanks again Adam https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...es/biggrin.gif ) Since then I have bought up a good number of BPs (I still have to clear each new acquisition through my very understanding wife https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...s/rolleyes.gif ) . I've kept and bred a fair number of things in the past, but this season will see the first BP morphs hatch, and I couldn't be more excited.
In the week I've been lurking around, I've been impressed with the community here, so expect to see me around fairly regularly. https://ball-pythons.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

Re: The "new guy"
Well, Seeing how I'm at work, here's a few pics that I have hosted already. I'm still working out the kinks in my photography skills https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...es/redface.gif, as well as using my "ancient" (4 year old) digital camera, so some of these aren't too impressive.
Here's my current favorite resident of the snake room
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...e/100_0425.jpg
Here's my Lemon Pastel with one of his lady friends. She is due to lay Apr. 15, and I can't wait!
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...e/100_0273.jpg
And here is a shot of my het axanthic male locked up with a 66% poss. het girl
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...e/100_0313.jpg
So there's a little taste of the collection. I borrowed a nice digital SLR (I want one!!) and took some shots that look pretty nice, so I'll post some of those when I get a chance. Hope you like!

Re: The "new guy"
I'm sure I would have embraced the name, had my parents leaned that way. So were you also a punker Adam? We may have more in common than just balls. I've clamed down quite a bit since my own punk days 10 years gone, but I still enjoy a show every now and again. In fact, my buddy is taking me to a show tonight for my B-day. I find it interesting, that while I'm excited for it, I think I would rather go home, fly my bird and clean the rodent shed......strange how your priorities change as you age.

Re: The "new guy"
Welcome to the site, Evan! Okay, so I'm a little late with the greets. You caught my attention with your punk comment. I still remember fondly of my spiked hair days in the mid-eighties... and I say fondly because I still had enough hair to spike back then. :colbert2: I love how some of the old bands are coming back a little. I almost caught a Violent Femmes show near here around a month ago, but my wonderful kids decided to give dear old dad a nasty bug instead. :(
Anyway, welcome aboard and Nice Balls! Good luck with that gravid girl!

Well, you were on the scene about a decade before me then. I started punkin' out in about '94 with Bad Religion, Op. Ivy and NOFX, but I still loved the older stuff too. That's too bad about missing the Femmes, they don't play too often anymore, in fact I can't remember them ever coming to Salt Lake, but they may have before my day. There was quite a big punk following here in the 80's (surprisingly enough for those familiar with Utah). If you haven't seen the movie SLC punk, i recommend it. You would probably appreciate even more than me, as you were around back then. I still have enough hair for a mohawk, but I don't think the wife would like it  .

I haven't seen SLC Punk, but it looks pretty good (IMDB). You're right, I am a bit surprised that Utah had a punk scene! Although in retrospect, it does make sense. What is it they say about the kids that go to Catholic schools? Another good documentary if you're able to find it is Punk:Attitude. Most of it deals with bands a decade before MY time, but that's when it all started. A lot of cool trivia, especially between the whole NY/L.A/London scene.

Re: The "new guy"
Welcome to the site Evan. Those are some lovely snakes! Hope the Axanthic pairing produces well for you.
I'm just grinning at all us responsible adults (okay cleverly disguised as responsible adults) remembering the days before spouses and kids, car payments, mortgages and the Monday to Friday grind. I think I vaguely remember it myself.....:carouse:  :carrot: :partyon:
unfortunately I remember a lot of  followed unfortunately by :puke: then a lot of
now I remember why I became "responsible" LMAO!

I figured you had somewhat of a wild youth, hanging out with a one-eyed brawler named Obi. :partyon: Ya gotta love the way a good band in a dive-club can bring together such a wide array of individuals. I go to shows now and see way to many teeny-boppers that I would expect at a backstreet boys concert.

The wife and I are planning a vacation, and what better place to go than Daytona, say around.....August 18th-20th!! But really, I think we're going to try and go, and I'm giddy just thinking about it. I'll know for sure in the next month or two, but it looks good.
