Re: planning ............
is your goal to produce an albino for yourself, or to sell albinos? or both? if you want to sell albinos or hets i would get het girls first like you said and then save up for an albino male. skip the het male, this way all your babies are albino/100%hets. plan on buying alot more stuff if you want to get into breeding!:partyon:

Re: planning ............
Kinda both ,but more of the for my self then start selling but once i have some albinos start breeding them then start it for money/enjoyment etc.
Re: planning ............
You can still go with the het male if you have limited funds. You can also see about trading any visable albinos for unrelated of the other sex, especially if you have extra males. Keep all females to breed to the visable albino too, as then you will get either more albinos or at least het albinos.
The trade is not necessary, but it builds good bonds between herpers too!
The wonderful thing is you get to keep the females, and eventually they are worth their weigh in gold to your breeding program, even if they are normal females, and not even hets.
Planning ahead is SO fun and makes you feel even more excited about them!

Re: planning ............
Well....thats a nice simple plan. There will be much more you'll need to get into breeding. Anyone feel like taking a crack at compiling a complete shopping list of stuff you need from, say, day one of a hatchling to seeing some babies pipping out? LOL...

Re: planning ............
I started keeping track of BASIC expenses......caging, tstats, waterbowls, hides, cost of the actual snakes, etc etc etc etc etc....broke $1500 easily a long time ago...and thats just for a small pastel project....
Re: planning ............
thanks , I am on a tight bugget .THANKS ALOT:D
Re: planning ............
male hets and as many poss. het girls as you can get! that's a good way on a budget. just be really careful and do alot of research and checking on a breeder when buying hets, esp. poss. hets.

Re: planning ............
Thanks for putting so fine a point on it guys! Now I'm really depressed! I REALLY don't wish to go and add up all I've spent so far on building up my little female colony and the $450 I plan to spend on the rack (this year - more being added later). :tricho:
Right now, I'm blissful in my ignorance! LOL It does help though that I'm not in any rush and can slowly build up what I need for a successful breeding program down the road.
Re: planning ............
Thanks guys!!!!! how about i get 2 het albino females and one het albino male and breed the male to both ,is this safe for the male ?Dont worry I will only get my snakes from the best (Adam) or (NERD) or (RDR). thanks !!!!! This planning stuff is fun yet it can be dangerous.
Re: planning ............
sounds like a plan, don't forget poss. het girls. they are a good way to go on a budget. you can probably pick up 2-3 poss girls for the same cost as one 100% het. just some food for thought.:reading: :headbang: :w00t:

Re: planning ............
sounds like great advice all the way around. Just remember those costs will start to add up quickly as your stock grows, easily over the course of 24 plus months. Best of luck to you.:)
Re: planning ............
THANKS :D . i love this stuff:wuv: . The poss. idea is a good idea. guys
