Welcome aboard! Sweet looking set-up you got there, from what I can see. And I love the pattern on that guy! Very nice!
EDIT: Well, the patterns on both are really nice! Didn't see the second guy at first.

Re: pics of first norm
hahaha...lmao @ the dank...I love it. What a great backround! I think U should take away the desert part and replace it w/ more of the "herban jungle" theme.
Too funny..and welcome.

Re: pics of first norm
They are very cute.. however, they really should not be kept together. Snakes are solitary creatures, and ball pythons are especially shy. Living together is actually stressful on them, and one may try to dominate the other. They will be better off in separate enclosures.. there have been many threads on this subject. Do a search if you wish.

Re: pics of first norm
Don't change the western backround, it looks great how it is. Gunslinger BP's are always cool. :cowboy:
But I wouldn't house them together because snakes are solitary animals and they could become stressed by a housemate. :hump:

Re: pics of first norm
Nice looking kiddos!!! Now send them each to their own rooms....:P
By the way WELCOME!!!!:D

Re: pics of first norm
Welcome to the forums!
I'm guessing that this is probably the first you've heard that you SHOULD NOT keep two ball pythons together in the same cage. They may be alright tomorrow, next week, and next month, but over time, bad things happen. Trust us when we say that. There are a lot of people on here with many many years of collective experience...you need to separate them in order for them to be as happy and healthy as they could be.

Re: pics of first norm
yes very nice back ground, i assume you made that? its awfully large, but i would get them seperated very fast, i promise one is if not both are very uncomfortable with who gets the best, warmest, coziest most secure hide spot in the tank.

Re: pics of first norm
thanks for the input.I need to wait a couple of weeks to get another tank.the reason there together is well 2 reasons are the guy that gave me that tank has two together and the guy from the pet store were i got them said they would be fine together. But if they would be better off seperate then thats what im gonna due. I was gonna get another setup for an male albino that i want but I guess that will be put on hold. thanks again guys & girls for your input and help

Re: pics of first norm
Glad to hear you are going to separate them.
You want an albino BP? I'd suggest you keep these two normals for awhile and get your husbandry down solid before investing over $2000 on a snake.

good advice Shelby. To me snakes are like tattoos after I finally got my first all I want is more:D
also i have both in a 55 gal setup right now(not for long)would a 30gal be good for one I would think this would be enough room for one but I could use some input

The smaller the snake, the smaller the enclosure... Baby balls call be housed in a 10g or the likes... you could also just buy one 20 gallon LONG (same floor size as a 30) and a male could live forever in that.
As an aside... before you go spending money on expensive tanks that are very difficult to keep temps and humidity correct, consider, search, research plastic tubs (sterilite, rubbermaid, iris). The price of a vivarium or two is much more than what a couple of tubs, some flexwatt, a thermostat or rheostat and a couple of hides.

Re: pics of first norm
You know, I like that idea, that centerfold gives the cage a green, jungle like feel *Runs off to tear through old High Times* :P :D

Re: pics of first norm
They are both beautiful :)
Oh and is that sand you are using as substrate? If it is, sand won't be able to hold the proper humidity. I'd switch to something like aspen, newspaper, or repti-bark.
-
Re: pics of first norm
That, and sand will get underneath their scales and irritate the crap out of your snake. Diseases anyone knows of, please enlighten us :)
-
Re: pics of first norm
I've never heard of sand irritating their scales, but you sure don't want your BP eating it. Humidity is pretty non-existent with sand too.
-
Re: pics of first norm
It irritates their skin UNDER their scales if it gets stuck under there. :)
-
Re: pics of first norm
Yes, I mean I've never heard of that happening.

You should really consider what someone said about the plastic enclosures since you say you want to have more snakes. Glass tanks can be hard to heat and keeping humidity up can be a challenge too if you use lights. Also glass tanks can be really expensive and so can all those things they sell you at pet stores like lights and under tank heaters. I've been using glass tanks for a while and I'm switching to the plastic as soon as my rack is delivered. I can't wait.

Re: pics of first norm
You know, everyone says housing snakes together is stressful, and i agree with it 100% they are solitary (although garters are not always in piles not just during winter or mating i always see adults sort of in packs) but look at them, they do not look stressed to me lol, look actuallly like they like each other's company curled together , i mean a picture is worth a thousand words you know.
-
Re: pics of first norm
Shad, snakes curling up together are not showing how much they like each other, they aren't cuddling, etc. What they are doing is trying to get the same spot all to themselves. Snakes aren't like other pets we have that come from species that are pack or herd oriented. If you look in the wild most snakes do not bother with each other, except for a short time to breed. If their nature is this way, why would it be a good thing to force a solitary creature into contact with it's own kind because we perceive, wrongly, that they enjoy it. That picture is worth a thousand words, I just read different words than you do.

Re: pics of first norm

They did seem fine together most of the time. There was a few times when i would lift up the hide and one would be completely on top of the other:bonk: the wierd part is the smaller guy would be on top:confused:
