    Ball Prints
Okay, so I decide that I need a website if I am going to breed and sell snakes. I go to topcites, and made my domain "pythonprints", but i never got my password and so I cant sign in and get it set up. My boyfriend, the funny man that he is, decided to go on and make the domain "Ballprints". He got a password!! Dammit....

So, tell me fellow herpers, how unprofessional is the domain BallPrints ? LoL, It makes me laugh, which is good... but im not sure everyone would find it so humorous. Would it decrease sales? I couldnt think of any other names (excepts for adams domain and "Got balls?", which are both totally brilliant) I dunno, it's kind of silly that i dont have the website up yet because i cant think of a name...

Considering your audience I cant find a single thing wrong with that ;)

Remember we're talking about the same folks (snake and more particularly BP enthusiasts) who pun off "balls" all the time. The same folks who you'll see at herp shows with "Evert my hemipenes" tshirts etc . . .

I don't find it offensive (as a matter of fact, it took me a couple of seconds to realize why anyone would find it offensive ... I get it now) ... but ... when I say it out loud or read it, I think of a sporting related artwork (prints) company and not a python breeder.

There might be a marketing hurdle to overcome there.

    Just my $.02

I'm in the same boat as Adam. I think it's clever and not the least bit offensive...especially given your consumer base. :P But when I read the thread heading, I thought you were going to be asking for or offering pictures of snakes. That's the only downside I see to it.

yeah, thats a good point that I never thought of. I prints, like snake skin prints and there are so many different kinds, but i want someone to know its a breeder first thought. i wanted ballpythonprints, but im only allowed 12 letters, and i would still have the same problem with the "print" thing AHHH lol im so bad at this

We have pets that are commonly refered to as "Balls" it's hard not to talk about them without saying something so humorous as to get a laugh from someone nearby.

"Would you like to come look at my balls?"

    "Nice balls!"

"You have such big balls, what do you feed them on?"

"My balls are sensitive to temperature changes"

I mean really... heh.. I could go on for hours!

That's great! I think I know what you are thinking!

    Jason

Ballprints isn't a bad name, however it did make me think that you were going to be offering prints or pictures of snakes...but I get what you're going for.

BTW just a quick question for those with businesses set up...do you have to register your business name with the state so no one else can use it? Or is that done when you register for a tax ID?

thats not the half of it!!!!

"can i try my balls in on ur rack for a while? just to see if they like it!"

"Woah u have a big rack! how many balls have u had in there?"

u see we are all immature kids trapped in adult (or sub-adult;) ) bodies

Personally, I like the name. I also fall into the group who thought pictures and the such when I read "prints". However, my guess would be your sales would not be hurt at all by the name. Regardless, once you start building up your name and rep, people will go to your site.
