    Iridescent Cleo
I took a few more pictures of Cleo recently, these two I really like as they capture the iridecence on her head really nicely!

Peaking over her branch... mmm branch

Enlargement of the same shot, showing off her head coloring.

All that waiting on the branch paid off.... Feeding time!

Again a close up for more detail.

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we do!

I get the same problem some times, some pictures show for me, some don't. Very strange.

The pictures in the original post are on my own webserver, so I know it's working okay. I've uploaded them to the galleries here and I'll try to link to them below...

    THey surely do!

It may well be related to security policies here at work for all I know at this point lol! Ignore me - its likely restricted to my end.

I can see them when linked from the gallery - nice shots!

When I view this forum from work it does get a bit messed up... all the icons are missing and the filenames for them are showing in thier place... but I can navigate, read and post just fine. Photos can be hit-n-miss though lol.

She looks great. Did she just shed or is she always like that? One of mine after he sheds gets really iridescent for a few days.

Those pictures were taken yesterday, she shed on February 11th - so she is pretty much due another shed soon.

Her head is about the only place with noticible iridescence like that.

Here are some pictures of the whole enclosure... Cleo didn't want to make an appearance for the photo call... She said to tell you she's busy, busy digesting that mouse.

When we feed her we remove the hide and plant on the opposite side to whichever hide she is in and put a piece of cardboard down and feed over that.

    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../cleoenc02.jpg

The plants are all fake, as are the ones behind the enclosure. The sides are covered with black card, the only viewing is from the front. The lamp directly over the hole in the plexiglas contains a CHE, which is on the same thermostat as the warm side UTH. A second thermostat controls the cool side UTH. The bankers lamp has a daylight bulb in it that is on a timer 6am-6pm. The other black lamp over the right side has a moonlight bulb that is also on a timer to be on 6pm-6am.

Oh, and the two pots up above were made by Cass :) If you want to know about the guy+cow photo you'll have to ask her too...

There's a Flukers digital thermometer/hygrometer in there; you can kinda see it in the first picture just to the right of the water bowl.

    It is digital.

You can see it better in the photo below.

Up on the back in some of the shots you can see a stick on dial type thing... it's junk I replaced within hours of getting it lol.

Okay.. I have to ask... in the pics of your setup, and the explanation of it, you have a plexi-cover to your tank... I have the same tank. Where'd you get the plexi? Is it custom cut, or did you find it like that? I need the square on the right side of the tank, but for right now, I just have the screened lid with some contact paper across the top of it.

    Re: Iridescent Cleo
I found a local plastics dealer (S&W Plastics) and they cut it to size for us, including the square hole for the lamp. Cost about the same as buying the viv unfortunately lol. But made a world of difference to the humidity retension.

The hole did cost more in labor than the plastic cut to a simple rectangle though, so if you just need a cut piece it shouldn't cost too much.

Thanks so much for sharing Cleo's tank..I love the way you used your ingenuity to make the plant "background"...The whole thing looks awesome....and Cleo looks very happy. The shot of her taking a sip of water is too cute!:aww: Perhaps we should have an EOTM (enclosure of the month) contest too...whaddaya think? ;)

The background idea was all Cass :)

We were going to get one of those aquarium prints to put behind, but we couldn't find one we liked. So plan B was to make a print we liked. However plan C, put more fake plants behind was Cass's idea and it looks great, from the front looking it it just looks like it goes back and back and back... :)

    Re: Iridescent Cleo
The problem is the little back forest looks so convincing and inviting that Cleo keeps bonking her nose in the back glass trying to get to it, hehe. =)

And thanks, it was super easy. I just grabbed a long rectangular brick of florist foam and several tropical/"West African plains" looking silk plants from the craft store, hack-sawed the foam in half (only have like 3 inches room between the tank and wall), ducktaped the two pieces together underneath and then with wire cutters, snipped the plants apart, trimmed them a bit to fit and stuck'em in. =)

Oh that's a nice looking enclosure! Hey Cass and Rick can I run away from Mike and the kids and you guys could make me a nice big custom enclosure too? Really easy - a big comfie bed, toss me a pile of Godiva chocolates daily and fill my bowl with coffee laced with baileys and I'm basically low maintenance LOL.

We will, of course, change your coffee daily... but I'm afraid you only get one Godiva a week... the plus side is that it will be equal to your girth :)

just a thought im a big advocate of turning those suckers on their sides and having more floor than head space i also found it helped with humidity

however if ur system is working perfectly leave it be!!!!!!!!!!!

I've thought about that actually. But it seems fine as it is for now.

Once the snakes grow out of thier vivs, we're probably going to go with stacking vision or similar enclosures.
