    Finally got my boa
I finally got my lil boy this morning from Clay English -- Great guy. I snapped a few pics but didn't want to bother him too much. He's very unhappy right now and extremely snappy. I'll post more pics next week when he's all settled in.

Very nice. Is he a brother to mine? I know someone here said they were getting one from the same clutch. I talked to Clay this Sunday, he really is a nice guy. We discussed when mine could be shipped. It is going to be -23 here tonight so I think I still have a month left.

I've named him Diablo, cuz he's a little devil. He regurgitated a mouse from before he was shipped... Poor little guy :( He hasn't been striking anymore but I've just been leaving him alone till this weekend. I'm so scared he's not going to settle down well.

Good looking guy! I am sure he will settle in for you.

As far as what you believed was regurgitation, that would have actually been vomiting. Regurge normally jhappens within the first 24 hours after eating and the prey item will appear to be mostly undigested. Vomiting can happen days after eating and the prey item will appear somewhat digested and will have a strong, foul odor. Either way, both are very stressful to the snake. I would leave him alone for a week (I know its hard) and don't feed him for 10-14 days. I would ask Clay how long it was since his last meal. If it was over 5 days (as it should be anytime a snake is shipped) then there might be other reasons for the vomitting. Keep a close eye on him and let us know how he does.

I've seen boas regurge more than a few times- lucky for you, boas tend to be less adversely affected by regurgitation, relative to other species I've seen.

In any event, just give him some time to settle in and make sure your husbandry is up to par and he'll be happy as ever.
