Which do I do?????

Im confused, need some help from you guys, cause youre the best!!

I have 2 options (both in which would cost the SAME):

1.) buy a 100% het albino pair
2.) buy a group of 3 50% het (1 albino and 2 pied) females, and buy a 100% het pied male, (and probably sell the 50% het albino).

My preference is to breed pieds, but im just stuck at the statistics. I would hate to spend all the time and try to prove them out, and nothing. Argh, but PIEDS! lol....see??? STUCK!! :) help????

I would...

Buy 3-4 poss. het pied females from a reputable breeder.

Since it takes longer to raise female to breeding size, any male that you buy will just 'sit around' until they are up to size. So I would buy some females this year, then get the het male next year. Of course you are taking the risk with poss. het females....but at least you will have breeding normal female if they don't prove ;)

Did I mention I have about 23 more minutes to decide??? :omg:

I would go with what Daniel said, buy the 3-4 possible het pied females since they take longer to mature you don't need to keep the male sitting around until they are ready.

And if they don't prove out as pieds, get yourself some nice codom males to breed to the normals! :)

However, I say go with whatever makes you happiest in the long run because these snakes will be with you for the long haul.

go for the poss. pied girls. save your money and in a year or so get a 100% het pied male. get as many poss pieds girls as you can from good breeders. if you like pieds, then set your goal and go for it the best way you can. if this is an auction, unless from a very reputable breeder i'd pass on it!

Ya, its an auction. They have a good reputation from the auction site, but thats it

me myself and i would say 90% of people on here would rather buy 50%from a well known breeder even the 100% on there is risky

i'd pass on it!!! poss. hets from an auction is way risky. poss. hets are easy for scammers/scumbags to try to get one over on you.

Yep, I passed. Anyone could take a picture and say its a 50% het without getting in trouble.

I'll sure enjoy watching the little albino heads popping out of their eggs in a few years, thanking whoever that i didnt get those 3 girls on a freakin auction.

P.S. they went for $270..... if only they were a sure thing.

You can go for it, remember its your money in the longrun....I know many reputable breeders have guarantees on even their 50%ers if you buy a small group. Before you pay, if you indeed bid and win, make sure he has some references and possibly papers on these snakes...A little background check before you send out the dough will not hurt anything.

Reptibid is the arm pit of the ball python industry.

A real breeder doesn't need to sell their stock "auction style" .... the idea is ridiculous.

With so many good breeders out there, why take a gamble with someone looking for the "best bid"?
