I know Shelby just posted awesome shots of her bloods while I was cleaning and getting some shots of ours, but it got me thinking. How appropriate to have a blood python photo thread on Valentines Day !

Their "chubbiness" is so appealing and I love the colors...I think we should definitely rename Valentine's Day to "Blood python Day"...much less Hallmark-y!

LOVELY looking sarawak - such caramel and chocolate colors the has the hues of a candy bar!

What sex is your black?

Female. I haven't acutally tried to probe her though.

She's a little over 3 years old at this point. She needs to put on a little weight in my mind though. (Which isn't quite accurate with the picture I posted, she took a giant poo not long after that shot.) She's a sweetheart. After several rounds of shots, belly scrubs, vet visits, and one very bad shed, she's never struck at anybody. I had some problems with her cage setup at first, but it's all fixed now.

Sarawaks are well, from the locality of Sarawak I think. They're Python breitensteini though. The sarawak is a male. I had the breeder pop him for me, and I acutally picked him out from all his clutchmates. He was the darkest one. He's such a chunky little thing. He's grown a LOT since I brought him home.

A beaut. He's got that well defined ankh goin on too.

Those colors still remind me of german chocolate cake . . or snickers . . . you have a most delicious looking snake!
