However, what is kinda bothering me is, are you TRYING to get them to copulate? If you aren't and they just happen to be in the same cage all of the time....this thread is about to get ugly...

Re: breeding
Are you positive that you have a male and a female?
Also, if you indeed have a male/female pair and your female doesn't have adequate weight for her length and she becomes gravid, she could get egg bound and die. Be careful. ;)

Re: breeding
hmmm...
How much do the two weigh?
A good breeder weight for a female should be around at least 1500 grams, and at that weight it should be at well over 3 feet. Like Adam said, not healthy if she's breeding at that small of a size...if she is really a she.

I meant that if you happened to house them together all the time, then things would get nasty...no snakes should ever be housed together permanently. Its all good though, you've got it covered.
good idea on holding that girl back. at 900some grams, she's definitely not ready for this season. Next year though, she should be good to go!

Actually....a female at 1500 grams and 3 ft would probably be healthy enough to breed....but a female at 1500 grams and 44" would not be.
Alot of breeders like to go by a 500 grams per foot rule in determining if a female is healthy enough to breed. A 3' snake should be at least 1500 grams to breed....if she is over 3', then chances are she needs to be heavier to lay eggs properly.
