Next snake down the road?

Hey everyone, I'm Intrested in getting a new snake in the near future and I'm looking for a beautiful or unusual snake that doesn't get very big and doesn't mind beaing handled. right now, I'm thinking about a brazilian rainbow boa, or a piebald peruvian ratsake. can anybody else suggest other good breeds?

Well, if for some reason you don't want to get a BP, I've got a Cape Gopher Snake that is fabulous. His coloration is amazing with bright oranges, reds, browns and blacks. He's only about 4' long and about as girthy as a magic marker and is as sweet as can be. He was flighty and a bit hissy as a baby, but has not hissed or gotten defensive at all since about a month after we brought him home. He likes to move around and explore when we have him out, but he never seems to be trying to "escape" our hands. I just love the little guy!! :D

EDIT: And he does very well with minimal husbandry adjustments. Humidity is not an issue with him and he favors temps in the mid-upper 70's.

how about a leucistic rat snake? They are inexpensive, and really cool snakes. A pure white snake with gray/blue eyes. i have two of these guys i'm trying to breed.....i handle them all the time, they're great eaters, and very hardy and easy care. I love em'! Yes well, that particular species was already mentioned. ;) (who'd a thought?)

I really like the look of the sand boas but I heard that they aren't freindly and often dont eat.

Anyone?? lol

Who told you they weren't friendly? These are the most docile snakes I have ever had. The kenyans are more docile than the roughscale, but most roughscales are super sweet too.

They sometimes go on fasts (like BPs) but they always will eat again. They're real easy keepers.. just get a well started baby, and you'll do fine. I LOVE my sand boas. I know a fabulous breeder if you decide you want to get one.
