Freshly shed dumerils pic
Bellatrix was looking fabulous (I think she always does.. ) so I got the chance to take one pic before my digicam's battery ran out.

Oh wow...like...wow. I bet she looks even better in real life!
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Yes she does. :) She's 7' 4" and 21 lbs. My biggest girl (though my female suri may be a bit longer.. hard to say.)
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic

Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Woah that is awesome. Can you give me a care sheet? Those look way cooler than BCC or BCI
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
well nvm that. I'm researching now. THOSE ARE SOO COOL

You can try this one:

They're easy keepers. If you get one make sure the baby is well started and feeding consistently. Baby dums are not easy to start.
Dums like a bit cooler temps than say a BCI.. I give mine a basking spot in the low 90s.. and the ambient temps are around 80.
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
That's what I'm talking about , what a beauty.
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Beautiful! Love the coloring on her!

Boy you're not kidding. I had a Heck of a time starting mine. I ended up scenting pinkies with geckos. They will only eat at night. The room had to be completely dark too. They still won't eat during the day, but they eat like champs now.
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Lordy she's a pretty girl April! Something about her pattern just makes me think of old handmade antique lace tatting that you hardly see anyone do anymore these days.

Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Yeah, Jo. They have such a lovely cryptic pattern.
Re: Freshly shed dumerils pic
Not sure how I missed this one, but she looks great! Do you have a male picked out for this girl?
Unfortunately I won't be breeding my Dums this year. Baby Dumerils are the chunkiest/cutest baby boas you'll ever find. I've got one baby boy left from two Dumeril litters we had last year. He's been on hold for a few weeks and I hope the buyer takes his time. :D

I've rarely had any trouble getting my baby Dumerils started. Just use a substrate the can burrow under, keep the temps proper and it's best/easier to offer live mice/rats for starters and just be patient. They'll come around, might take a few days or a few weeks, but they'll come around. Once they are established you won't have any feeding issues with Dums.
Dumerils are great overall Boas and I hope you get to breed that girl soon!
