    Mhhhrmbllp? (the gimmee caffeine thread)
There's only one thing I hate more than mornings - and it's a tight contest at that - and that's my monthly Tech Reports. Yep working for the man has me on this dreaded deadly soul-sapping cycle sisyphus-style.

Personally I can't function without my morning pot of goodness - and some mornings it doesnt even seem that that is quite going to cut it. At any rate here's saluting those who survived Monday only to be sent back to the front this morning.

    :coffee:

(well it was worth a shot)

Ugh, nothing more painful than the drudgery of filing monthly reports. Talking about it is making me fall asleep :coffeecup

I gave it up when I was pregnant with my son. I don't drink it now for medical reasons. As for how I get through the day? Very slowly. ;)

You poor thing..... I would never make it through the day... not even slowly like you say you do. Gosh you are a stronger person than I to resist caffeine!

I get a caffeine deprivation headache if I dont get my fix by noon!

My coffe is sludge, syrupy black tar lookin stuff. Smynx makes great coffee, delcious tasty etc - I make brutally functional coffee ("andoooop a scoop to grow on")

'Nectar' refers to something else entirely in my vernacular.

Hm.. coffee makes me so jittery and nervous. I can't take caffeine.

Mornings are very slow for me. I am nocturnal like my snakes. :)

Dang, can't find it (Google you failed me!). There was a Garfield comic years ago where Garfield had himself hooked up to a pot of coffee on an IV...that's what Smulkin needs!

I'm with you April. If I drink caffiene, my heart goes into major overdrive. When you feel like your heart is going to escape your chest, it's really easy to give the stuff up. ;)

Well its kind of a no-no to have my own private coffe pot squirreled behind these servers here - if i could get away with a big ole espresso or cappucino machine i certainly would. I could claim it was a big NOAA satellite or something - explain the gurgling and steaming away lol.

LOL...I've actually had that done, once. Not coffee, but a pure caffeine IV. With the birth of my last child, I had an epidural go bad and was leaking spinal fluid, which caused unbearable head pain. (Headache would be WAY too mild of a word for it.) They pumped 800cc's of pure caffeine into my veins. Didn't do a thing for the pain, but I figured if nothing else, it gives me a great story to share with all my coffee-addict friends! :community

Wow Judy! I know for a migraine I've heard it's a good idea to immediately drink very strong coffee, though I've never known why exactly.

I may love my coffee but I'm being good (after Jeanne had a talk with me LOL) and actually drinking only decaff after 4 p.m. as the "hard stuff" plays heck with my tummy and sleep patterns too.

Tea...mmmmm...now that is a comfort drink for me. My scottish granny who raised me always put on the tea kettle first thing....deaths, births, loss of job, new boyfriend, broken heart, broken arm....whatever was going on you MUST have tea! LOL Oh and none of your fancy pants flowery teas now! Good and strong, brewed well in a proper china tea pot. Now that is tea!

Re: Mhhhrmbllp? (the gimmee caffeine thread)
Caffeine for Judy, was used to treat a vascular migraine caused by changes in her spinal fluid "pressure", which rights itself with the bodys ability to make more spinal fluid (CSF). However, they used caffeine to get rid of her headache because it dialates (sp) blood vessles. Not all migraines can be treated successfully with caffeine, as migraines actually have many causes. Some, caffeine actually makes worse.

Amen! Rick converted me to drinking tea the "proper" way...and it does taste better brewed in a proper tea pot (we have a "brown betty"). =)
