New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Well, the girls are back from the vet after a very eventful day! Went to the vet and they were declared a healthy weight, no external parasites, doubtful based on their weight that there's internal parasites, no RI's - and NO CHARGE for the visit! He said that he enjoys the herps and not many of his clients have them, and it was a pleasure to handle such beautiful snakes - so no charge! Have I mentioned that I love my vet?
I'll probably still take fecal samples to him later just to be 100% sure there are no internal parasites.
He didn't really want to probe Kashmire, he felt he was too young, but he did anyway and he is indeed a male and will be a beloved pet! He was a little unsure with the probing, but it did seem to go in pretty deep. Interestingly - maybe the breeders can comment, he counted scales from the colocoa (sp?) to the tip of the tail on each of them. Is this significant in any way?
Kashmire - 33
Kiah - 27
Echo - 27
Godiva - 28
No Name became named - Godiva - I just couldn't let them make a file on her called "No Name". Thanks Jo for the name, I think it will stick!
Ah, THEN the fun part! Stopped at the convenience store, saw someone I knew, showed them the snakes - and locked my keys in the car! They said "hey, the police will come and unlock your car if you have children or pets locked inside - give them a call". Called, they said "what type of pets, ma'am?" I said - "uh, reptiles". They took my cell phone number, said they'd call the fire department and see if they'd come. Called me back and said they were on their way. Big 'ol ladder truck drives up in five minutes and a drop dead GORGEOUS firefighter comes up, nice as he can be and says "so, we're taking bets what kind of reptiles?" Told him and he wanted to see them after they unlocked the car - of course I even let him pet one of them! LOL
Anyway, pictures below. Daniel, I borrowed (ok, stole) your white towel idea for some of the pictures.

Godiva "modeling" the new enclosure - identical for each girl - other than color of bowls. The purple box is a third hide.

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Thanks Daniel! Yeah, my little Canon Powershot didn't do a bad job at all with those white towels, I was pretty pleased!
I love the back blushing too, one reason I picked these girls out! I can't wait to see what Will gets this year - Mike Joliff is cherry picking another 100 for him this year! :D

Sounds like your vet might need a refresher on probing?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. He never said why he was counting the external scales on each of them, Kash was the only one that was probed.

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Awwww aren't they sweet! Little Echo's too cute peeking out from under her coils and Miss Diva there looks like she'll live up to that nickname LOL. Kiah is gorgeous, heck they are all but Kiah's a real stunner. They all look great Robin. Lovely, well filled out pretty babies all three of them...congrats!

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
robin those are all seriously gorgeous snakes. i especially love kiah's blushing and pattern--seriously, if i saw her at a show i'd buy her in a heartbeat. :) (i'm attempting not too look at bps for sale online so much because it's just trouble ;).) congrats on your new girls and their positive vet check up!

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Thank you everyone! I guess one of the "benefits" of having limited space is trying to be very selective in the animals you pick! LOL If I can only house a few right now, I want the ones that are most aesthetically pleasing to me! LOL

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Note to self: Find firehouse and walk by it often with Shahrazad while wearing a nice outfit. :P ;)
Gorgeous little girls you got there!!!! Makes me want another bp something fierce.

Re: New Girls - Dial Up Death!
Thanks Gin! I love all my babies! I need to get some new pictures of Kashmire, he's starting to get more of an olive color to him with each shed. My heart always does a little pitter pat - flip when I look at him or handle him. He's my heart snake! Although, I can't wait to get to know the personalities of these girls.
What's funny is Godiva is the one I obsessed about whether to get or not, because in the pictures I was provided of her, her head seemed mis-shapen to me and I wasn't as excited about her as the other two, but I just couldn't walk away from that blushing (maybe one reason she went without a name for so long - I just wasn't "feeling" her). With the limited interaction I had with the girls yesterday, Godiva is currently my favorite of the three - at least personality wise.
It's funny how different they are (although I knew that all snakes are different in personality and temperment). Kiah hangs out in her warm hide, Godiva crams herself into the purple box which is between the warm and cool side, and Echo loves her cool side hide. None of them have done much exploring yet, I imagine they just need time to de-stress in their respective favorite hides.
I hate even having to disturb them for water changes and checking for "presents". But momma did go out and buy them some "nummy" mice for next Saturday to fatten up!
