Rat or Mice Racks/Cages For Sale
I have had alot of interest in these rat racks and have been producing them at a steady pace. I have also had requests for a smaller version for people with fewer snakes. So I now have 2 sizes to offer.

    Large rat rack:
Comes with 6 levels of plastic cement tubs. This rack is two of the small racks shipped seperately then stacked and screwed together. This rack has casters installed for easy moving. $250 shipped.

    Small rat rack:
Comes with 3 levels of plastic cement tubs. The overall rack is approx. 24" tall, 24" wide and 29" deep. Because of the small size and ease of moving, this rack does not come with casters. $130 shipped

    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...smallrack1.jpg

The tubs on both racks are approx 27"x20"x6". They can hold up to 1.3 for breeding groups per tub. Both racks have food troughs built in to the shelf that can hold approx a weeks worth of food. Both racks are basically identical except for height. The small racks can be stacked for future expansion. If you would like to use these for mice, I can put 1/4" x 1/4" mesh instead of the 1/2" x 1/2" I use for rats. Please specify when ordering if you want them for mice cages.

I accept paypal and USPS money orders. Racks are built on a first paid basis, racks are not built and shipped until payment is received. Turn around from payment to shipping is about 2 business days.

You can contact me at bhicok@wctatel.net.

It took all of ten minutes to assemble. Took me more time to get the boxes out of my truck and up my steps! Easy peasy! Love the price and they are very very easy to roll about anywhere i want them. I have the urge to roll them around the house, just because I can. Rats-on-patrol.
God, I need to get out more.

Okay Wolfy now that is just too funny! I have this gawd awful visual of you rolling your rat rack along the rows of snakes and saying (in a snooty voice course)....

Good evening Ma'am...Sir...My name is Wolfy and I'll be your server this evening...chef has prepared a lovely selection of black hoodeds this evening or perhaps a nice 06 albino (a very good year I must say)....

Ack! I definitely need to get out more!

The assembly part was just stacking two sections together and putting screws in place, and installing the casters. It isn't really a lot of assembly to it, but i can't think of another term to use.
    Sorry for confusion.
Frankykeno: omg funny. Sadly, i think i could picture me doing that, snooty voice and all.

I've been looking all over for those cement mixing bins. Where do you find them?

Maybe I need to make a run accross the border to get some.

I seem to rem them saying home depot on them. Not entirely sure. I am at work no way to actually look at the bins. Which I rolled around the snake room just because last night.

Too funny, :D Thanks Wolfy, for the kind words it was a pleasure doing business with you.

You know I was thinking when you said you might have to get another, you probably could just add another layer of 3. That would make it approximately 6 ft tall, you would just need a small step stool to access the top tub. :)

I think I would rather get a second set than go that high, something about how clutzey I am naturally, combined with live rats and stepstools tells me it will be a bad thing.
    Plus my assistant is short.
Good thought for anyone else. Just not this water buffalo.

I really do like these racks, I'm definitely going to have to get at least the three tub stack.

    Couple of (maybe) dumb questions:

Where do you keep your rats? specifically, in your snake rooms?

How often do you clean the tubs/change bedding?

Re: Rat or Mice Racks/Cages For Sale
I keep my rats in the basement right now. This spring I have a detached garage that will be transformed into rat/snake house. Some of the people that have purchased these use them directly in their snake rooms. I change my bedding once a week with my rats. If they have babies present I do a partial change with a kitty litter scoop so I don't disturb the babies. If no babies are present or big enough to have their eyes open, then I still do a full cleaning by removing everyone. I am increasing my production to start supplying some bigger breeders, if I was still using aquariums and stuff I wouldn't even think about it!! They are a blessing, even if I do say so myself!!! LOL!!! ;)

THese are set up in my snake room. I love them. I managed to make them fit where I wanted them too also, not like in the picture. Cleaning is a breeze also, I clean out the bins once a week, no smell, really. Sometimes the one with the feeder rats(adult males) gets a little stinky by a week.
So far no new babies, so waiting on that.

Re: Rat or Mice Racks/Cages For Sale
I'm thinking I need another rack, adding numbers up I can't quite breed enough rats with one rack to feed all 50 pythons. That is figureing 4 bins used for breeders, and the other two used to hold bag rats and smaller rats for feeding. 2 females per bin. I figured it with 3 females per bin, which to me is really overcrowding them, and still came up short. So I am thinking well... get another rack, and really swing into production.
I just emailed you and THEN this thread popped up finally! After I gave up on it.
