Another "why is this?" question

Why are some people's names in italics some of the time, and not at other times? Does it signify anything?

It should be pretty consistent (if not let me know where you see them in or not in italics)

Folks who have (been around 2 years OR have 75+ reputation) and (contributed 200+ posts) are granted BP Veteran status. The payoff is meager I am afraid - just gives you a bit more space in your gallery and allows for storage of more PM's. It seemed like the least we could do to recognize long-time members and people who have made a significant contribution.

In the near future we will revisit this and possibly add other options as well!

OK, for instance, Adam has not been italicized until tonight (that I've noticed anyway). JLC and Jo were italicized last week, but aren't this week.

The BP.net veteran status was just changed to include 75+ reputation as a qualifier. Adam hasn't been here for two years, so before that was changed, he wasn't considered a BP.net veteran.

Not sure about Jo and JLC.. they are the two newest mods though.

jlc and jo are mods now so they are green instead of italic. and adam was just given his italicized veteran status based on his reputation. :)

But last week, Jo was green AND italicized. I must be really bored tonight! LOL

erm, i dunno. i didn't notice that she was both. guess she's just special! :)

I thought you meant for example the names in the "who's Online" box on the homepage was displaying differently than it was in the forums.

OK, thanks everyone for explaining it to me. The significance of the italics was a great thing to know, and something I didn't know before. :D

It's my fault for not having announced it - the numbers of things we're tweaking simultaneously factors in - we want to make sure we get something nailed down beforehand and keep the site live at the same time. Like the HerpArt gallery for instance (oh shhhhh!) ;)

While we are talking about the site ( i dont mean to hijack the thread) we should have a live chat. There are almopst always alot of people on and I think it would be good.

Ok. lol will it be open all the time thouhg like you just log in with your user name and password or can you only use it on certain nights?

It will run on scheduled nights so as not to impact site performance otherwise.

It is integrated with our site so you won't need to log in a second time.

Not sure that we know just when yet.. Smulkin has a lot on his plate right now. All in good time. ;)

Oh yeah! Chat night! Just as long as it doesn't interfere with 24 on Monday, Commander in Chief on Tuesday, Lost on Wednesday and Survivor on Thursday! (Not that I'm picky or demanding or anything! ;) ).

OOOOHHHH 24!!!! I'm an addict! I cannot get enough of that show...Gotta love Tivo, it's the worst thing to ever happen to me! You can watch EVERYTHING! The new receivers can record two channels at once...good thing I don't have much of a social life!
