    a. versi sling
i just brought home an a. versi sling today... what a cutie pie it is. we've named it chicklet :date:

it's so tiny though... i wish it was bigger cause i know they can be tricky to raise from 1/2"

    any pointers?

If it's small enough, rehouse it into one of those big salt shakers (make sure it can't climb out the holes though). They need lots of ventilation.

i've added more ventilation in the lid for it. which will be enough until it molts at least once more (last molt was jan. 15th) then i can move it to something larger. ;)

It would not hurt to put some holes into the side of the vial to allow cross-ventilation. I have done this in the past by using a small heated up snake probe...I just stick the probe into the flames on my stove lol. Crude, but it works.

Or if you have a soldering iron with differnt (skinnier) tips you could use those.

    Worked dandy for me :D

Yeah, the only reason I used snake probes is because I could not find anything smaller...you certainly don't want to make the holes too big and have the spider escape.

    Re: a. versi sling
Sho'nuff. Fortunately the $5 soldering iron from Big Lots had 3 tips so it pretty much became the defacto "ventilat0r" for any plasitc housing. That was the first lot of slings i'd gotten at that point (a.versicolor, b.auratum and l.parahybana) - and they were alarmingly small. Of course the parahybana is now as big as any of the other T's - colossal appetite on tha thing.
