New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
My new girl is settled in after the long day (and so am I!). Before putting her in her cage for the week long of tortueous no touching I got a quick weight and photo.
Here's my darling new girl, weighing in at 301g....<drumroll please>

Oh Wendy she's darling! Congrats on getting her and I just know she'll do well for you!
Can't wait to hear what name you settle on for the pretty little thing.

Awesome little girl! She's got a cool pattern, and such a light color to her. Beautiful. I can't wait til I get a chance to actually see her. Now the difficult task of naming her. Oh and I can't wait to here how her your first time feeding her goes.

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Thanks for the compliments, I'm quite smitten with her myself!
Christie, I'm sure I'll jump like a frightened school girl the first time she nails her dinner! I'm a loser like that!

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Very pretty indeed. Congratulations!
I'd name her "Waffles" but that's just me, I'm always thinking up eclectic names for pets ... but anyway, she's a little cutie, you did good ;)

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
As much as I love my two little girls, I haven't managed to get more creative than Half1 and Half2.
Of course I also manage to forget my anniversary date and my wife's birthday every year.
Maybe I have attachment issues I need to work out that date back to when I first stocked my 20 gallon aquarium... with 76 rainbow trout... and they all died..

I jumped just this week about 5 or 6 times... fed 25 rodents this week, and 5 or 6 of them were nailed as soon as their feet hit the floor of the tub. Scenting the room REALLY works to get them all worked up! :)

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Oh Spencer, I know I shouldn't laugh but oh that was funny! LOL Sorry about your trout but sorrier about you forgetting the wife's birthday and the anniversary thing. We wives can get real snippy about that stuff LOL.
I never have trouble naming our snakes. I just find some obscure, impossible to pronounce and harder yet to spell Irish/Celtic name and there you go bob's your uncle! :P

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Thanks everyone! I'm kind of waiting for her to settle in a bit so I can get to know her (okay, maybe it sounds corney, but hey!).
I'm already purusing the name lists but nothing has jumped out. She's really laid back (held her a bit before putting her in the box and moving her!) and was very curious (kept trying to get up around my neck for a better view).
I'm open to all suggestions, but I'm partial to odd and even sometimes unpronouncable names ;)
You can be sure I'll post like a dork when I finally find something that hits me!
(BTW - Kenny, if I named her waffle, everytime I'd look at her I'd need to go eat...baaaadd idea!!! LOL!)

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Aww, what a pretty girl! You know, I've got a nice '05 het hypo boy, Casper currently residing at Adam's, maybe they may need to go on a date in a few years! ;)
As far as names, you can see I went with a "ghost" theme. Maybe you can do a search on famous ghosts and find a female ghost that you can name her after? I'm corny like that. Or look for a name that means Spirit?

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Gotta love google! LOL
How about Lorelei, a famous singing ghost from Germany who apparently sits atop a rock on the right bank of the Rhine. Kind of a lovely name and a lovely ghostly legend.

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Jo, I am a sad Gilmore Girls fanatic and can only relate Lorelei to the quirky character on the show!
On the bright side, I picked a name, though I went and turned completely girly I chose Breena. It's Celtic/Gaelic meaning fairy land...I figure I may be calling her Reena for short but I like it!

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Oh I've never watched that show so didn't get that connection but I love the name you picked....very pretty name for a very pretty snake!

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
Hehe, I always think of 'Gentlemen Prefer Blonds' when I hear the name Lorelei...
"I'm not marrying him for his money...I'm marrying him for *your* money!"
Would be a great name for a bright yellow female...=D

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
hehe! It isn't corney to get to know your snake, It's great when you bond with your snakes !

You'll have to fight Christie for her Robin! She has little Norbert who's a lovely pastel 50% poss het hypo we're hoping to prove out when little Breena is big enough!
Oh and Vaughn, I could never get rid of my little corns, and I'll probably pick up a male next season even...though I may admit that holding Breena just simply doesn't compare! There's something to be said for a woman of substance!

You know, Jo,
I think I'm gonna like you.
Before I read your response I decided to go with old Welsh names just because it will give people one more thing to be confused about when they visit my snake room. However, I kind of feel guilty as the only snakes to speak of in Wales are Adders, and they are SO beneath my bps, I've considered taking Ghananian....Ghananese...Ghananite... or whatever its called to find some good names.
Alternately that clicking language that guy spoke on "The gods must be crazy" must have some good snake names. I'm guessing they'd all be swearwords though.

Re: New Nameless Het hypo girl!!!!
LOL Thanks Spencer! Actually I get a kick using Irish names considering that whole St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland thing....getting a bit of our own back there! :P
I do have to make sticky notes of the names and how to pronounce them when we get a new snake in though LOL. I was lucky enough to find a wonderful site online where I can actually hear an Irish actor saying the names so I can get the correct pronounciation down pat.
Drives my husband nuts though that we pick these lovely names and then I shorten them down anyways. Kyna is Kee Kee, Saoirse gets called Sarsh, etc.

Oh I so love being fought over! Okay, well, my snake's nooky rights are being fought over but still nice ;) :D
I have to say I'm partial to Norbert having picked him out for Christie and all, but I'm sure Casper is also quite the man! I have plans on picking up a little male friend years down the road after two successful breedings with Norbert (how awesome would it be to prove out little Norbert by hatching out some Hypo Pastel!!).
