Daytona - Dates and who's going?

I know you told me last night the dates, but I neglected to write them down.

Does anyone know the dates for Daytona this year? I want to go ahead and turn in my PTO request here at work. I'm afraid if I wait, they'll tell me that we're doing mid-quarter inventory that weekend, and I want to get it approved before they set those dates.

Also, who's planning on going?

At least if I turn in the PTO request, I'm a little more committed than before! LOL

August 18-20

I'm planning/hoping to go. I already got the time off of work. My fellow blue tongue skink buddies on www.bluetongueskinks.net are planning a little get together to meet one another.

I hope things work out and I can go.

Thank you! Well, it turns out, WE'RE doing mid-quarter inventory that weekend, and of course, the job can't function without Robin in attendance. (just a wee bit bitter about it). I haven't gotten a resounding "no" yet, but I've definitely gotten push-back and the lecture about being a team player. :mad:

Oh that sucks Robin! I hope you do get the time off though. We won't be going to Daytona this year but are hoping to attend the big Chicago show in the fall of 06.

I may go, but haven't made it a definite decision. I've got family in Daytona, so I could visit them, and go to the snake show all in one trip. Just need to kick myself in the butt. :D

Ill be there:) Last year was insane..lol.. This year Ill be vending.. and of course buying..lol

My only question when I looked at the Daytona site is this....the wristbands are $10.00 to get into both Saturday and Sunday but there's no mention of the costs to attend the Friday night symposium?

Jo, as far as I know information about Friday isn't publically available yet. I think they have some details to iron out still.

Grrrrr, the more I stew on this, the madder I get! EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE that I've worked with here has missed at least one inventory since I've been working here.


Been on La Quinta website checking out room rates (because we'd probably bring our dog and they allow pets) and everything.

And you know what else? If Daytona is consistently the middle of August, then I'm going to consistently have mid-quarter inventory at the same time. If I thought, ok, not this year, maybe next, then maybe I wouldn't be so upset. (Hmmm, but that would leave more money for more snakes if I don't go - ok, give the crying girl a snake and her tears disappear! LOL)

Oh well, thanks for listening to me vent!

It is a hard decision.....spend the money on the trip or spend the money on more ball pythons....ha ha...I have not made up my mind yet...

Alot of it really depends on if I graduate in August....but that is another story ;)

YAY! I can drive there in a few hours. I will be there barring unforeseen disaster. Yay!
I'll get to meet both Adam and Matt, two people who have both been wonderful to me starting out!
Maybe Adam will get to show me his balls in person rather than in pictures(He won't send them unless I give him money.)

hopefully i will be there, but i am totally unable to plan for something that is that far in advance. i can't even plan for next week yet. heck, i didn't even plan that far in advance for my own wedding. :P
