why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
It does look like she is getting ready to shed again, but it looks like she still has skin on her from the last shed just behind her head. Keep her humidity up and spray her down with some water periodically to help loosen that skin up. Maybe even put her in a rubbermaid with a damp towel for a couple hours to help get rid of the already loose skin.
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
yea but is it possable for her to shed twice in 2 weeks?and if this is going to happen again and since today is the day for them to be fed do i feed her?
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
You might want to get your snake checked by a vet ... shedding that frequently is often a sign of illness.

Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
Could you elaborate a little bit on ur experience level? Like how long you've owned the snake, and husbandry stats. Any background info on the bp?
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
my husband has owned bp before but we have had rock and tally for about well rock for about 2 mo.and tally about 3 wks.we got them from a breeder where we live they are really good.he just never owned a female and she acts differ.than rock.
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
are u sure he is free of mites? i have been told that snake will go into shed cycle back to back if the snakes have mites!
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
Need more information again :D
What is the setup like? Are you housing them in a glass tank or platic enclosure? What are your heat sources, and how are you monitoring/controling them? What is the humidity level like in the enclosure? Are they being housed together in the same enclosure? How many hides do you have and do they encapsulate the animal completely? What kind of substrate do you use? When you took her to the vet, did he/she give her the once over and tell you that everything was ok or was a fecal/blood test done? How long is she and how much does she weigh? And finally does she have any injuries like small cuts or bites?
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
ok i have her in a 55 gal.glass tank one end is 90 to 95 degrees and the other is 75.heater pad for underneath and a heatlamp,2 hides and yes she encapsulates completly.she had a once over but no blood test, she weighs 400grams and is about 34and a half in. long.no cuts nor bites nowhere.

Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
Just a couple more ??? What is your humidity level? Is your top partially covered to hold in humidity?
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
i dont know because the stores around dont have a humidity gage in yet they have ordered but not in,and the top is just covered by hardware cloth only.so i guess i would say its open.
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
First thing I would do is cover as much of the top as you can without getting close to your heat lamp. Then mist the cage a couple times a day, this will help with you humidity. Also get a rubbermaid container that the snake and a large towel or alot of paper towels will fit into. Completely fill the tub with the moist towels and put your bp in their and let it crawl thru the towels to get that old shed off. From the look your snake is having problems getting the old shed off and if you dont get it off it will cause problems with the new shed she is starting. Humidity will be your friend over the next week. Try to oreder a humidity gauge so you can keep tack of it and help prevent this in the future. If you need any help or questions you can also pm me.

You can get a digital Thermometer from wal-mart for like 15bucks. Check in the Home and Garden section for it. Its called Acurite and it measures both temps and humidity :) Are you using one of those dial thingies to measure the temps?
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
Ok to answer the question: If the vet has given the animal the A.O.K, and since mites, cuts and other things of that sort are not in the scene, I have to conclude that its the setup. A 55 gallon is kinda large for the snake with just two hides in it. Temps have to be 82-84 on the cold side and 92-94 on the hot side. Humidity has to remain between 50-60%. This is 24/7. Make sure that the tank is not located in an "high-traffic" area and that handling is limited as much as possible. I'm sure someone more experienced will correct me if I'm in the wrong :)
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
$11.88 for one of those fine handy dandy thermometer / humidity thing -a-ma-jigs. I just picked up another one today at Walmart. Works GREAT, just keep a bunch of AAA batteries handy. In the meantime, when in doubt, partially cover the top till you get a chance to run by WalMart.
Re: why are her eyes like this if she has already shed
its just a themonator thingy that came with the snake.no its not a dial type but i do know what your talking about.and i want to thank all of you for helping us out with this!!!thanks a million
