    *passes Wolfy the neosporin*

It's okay Wolfy, the little male het we have from Adam went for Mike last night during feeding. Hilarious to see that attitude out of a little 310 gram snake but then he'd tried to nail me on Wednesday morning while changing his water dish (had to explain to the little boogerhead that feeding day around here is Thursday night so cool his jets! LOL). Gotta love a snake that wants his dinner that much!

Maybe I'm wierd but I don't mind the occasional attitude out of any of our snakes. Keep me on my toes and they are just doing what comes naturally after all.

Ahh yes, I love a bit o spunk in my snakes too. (Don't read into that too much!)
Actually my favorite snake actually tags me pretty often, but doesn't really do much, just nips, this one hung on, which was a bit weird.
I know it isn't MUCH of a gory pic, I said so. Just htought you guys wouldn't want to miss out a little gory picture. I've done mUCH worse before, without the aid of snakes.

Try the bite of a great white... wait, that's probably off-topic. I'm yet to get bitten by Monkey. I'm kind of dreading it, yet excited about it at the same time if that makes any sense...

Yep! He kicked my butt! To date that was probably (knock on wood) my worst bite. I think I limped for a week!

I just saw one of those the other day. He was not happy, but he was newly arrived. He was trying to nail anything that got close. Is that just a normal trait? How big was the one that got you?

LOL I remember when Brannagh was new to the house and trying her best to nail Mike and I. I was, in a wierd way too, anticipating the bite. Just to get past the bit of fear I had of a larger snake nailing me even with gloves on (my mama didn't raise no fools and that's one big female with attitude LOL).

When she did finally manage to tag me a good one and got a tooth through the glove it turned out to be no major thing at all. Hate to say it but I've been bit FAR worse by my own children! Oh and it was my own fault of course. I learned when grabbing on to a large snake in a "mood" don't hesitate, don't overthink it, don't show fear....just commit and do it! Brannagh caught me and I learned but then so apparently did she, as her temperment did show improvement along the way.

Usually our rhinos are sweet as pie...Bulldozer was just being a dominant male that day. He's the one on the right in this pic...weighs 18 lbs, +/-.

This is 2 days after he grabbed the inside of my right thigh & wouldn't let go. Old pic w/crappy camera, but I think it gets the point across. ;)

That bite looks incredibly painful. *cringe* How long are they, as adults?

I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt. He held on for a good 30 seconds or so, and the bite pressure was pretty darn impressive. It's the only bite I've ever had that made my eyes water uncontrollably...not crying per se, but just hurt bad enough to make my body go "WTF just happened here?!?!?!?!"

Our adults are around three-and-a-half feet long, STL. They are easily, easily my favorite bigger lizards...OODLES of personality & charm! :D

Yeah isent that weird? the speed of the bites usually suprise you so you got some shock and with some larger snakes added pain yet we still kinda like it...like a battle scare lol

My ball and boa have both managed to get me once but corns still workin on it lol I think shes waitin till shes bigger

    Re: Gory bite pic
Yep Christie, I told you she'd come a long, long way from the aggressive female we took in from the pet store. She was just scared I think and defensive, not mean in temper but just not going to relax till she felt right with the world. She's come so far!

That sounds wonderful Gene! I was worried Brannagh might slip back a bit with the change to your house for the breeding but it sounds like she's just trucking along being a good snake. Dang I miss those big girls but I won't get all mushy or anything (pssst give em a chin rub from me...I miss them both so much).
