I am SOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo sick! I feel like doo doo and my stupid boss (aka: one of my best friends in the world) is still makin me come into work this weekend cuz he is a pooptard! Feel all sorry for me and send me super awesome snakey powered vibes to get better!!!

Oh goodness no! This is one of those rare times when even the thought of a drink hurts. I am pretty certain I caught strep throat from a kid I played 24 straight hours of poker with last weekend. I knew he was sick (even though house rules explicitly state that if you are sick you are NOT to show up) but I had hoped that the copious amounts of vitamin C and other immune boosting supplements and vitamins that I take would help me beat him giving me the crud. I guess not! I have not let him stop hearing about it since and, it was not until later that he revealed he was just coming down off of some nastiness with strep throat among other things.

A REALLY good indication of how sick I am is that my wife HATES gambling! But, because it was recently my birthday, she set up this big trip for me. We left Wednesday and went to the baseball Hall of Fame. I was in bed in the hotel that nite by 7pm. The next day she took me to a casino and gave me money to play in a tournament. On top of that birthday money, I also had a couple hundo in my pocket. Well, I am a poker JUNKY! But, I felt like such crap, I played the tournament and then told her I was done. A planned full day in the poker room turned into an hour and a half long tourney and I was too sick to continue. THAT is how sick I am! UGH!

and now i am off to bed...

Awww Eddie not fun! If you suspect you've got strep though get thyself to the doctor silly man! Strep can turn very nasty left untreated and a quick course of, I think it's 4 pills or one needle will have you back on the road to recovery in 48 hours.

Don't forget tons of water, clear fluids, chicken soup (yes it works!) and a good amount of rest to help your body flush out the germs (gawd I'm in mom mode again LMAO).

Thanks for all of the well wishes guys and gals. And don't worry Momma Jo, I am doing all of the right things with the water, chicken soup, etc.

I decided to say screw my boss, I am not working today and since I already had the day off tomorrow, I am taking this opportunity to rest and try to get better. I have determined that it is not strep. I have had strep like three times before so I know the signs and my throat is only mildly swollen and is most likely just bothered by nasal drip. (ew!)

The crappy thing is that it is in my chest now so I am havin that weezy breathing. Anyhow, since I gave myself the day off today, I am about to go pound some nite time theraflu cold medecine (theraflu is a dog gone life saver!) and then get me some more sleep.

Hey Eddie, sorry that you aren't feeling well, but I hope that a weekend of rest has you back in tip top condition! Next time, buy some Airborne. I SWEAR by that stuff! As soon as someone sniffles or coughs around me, I'm running to fixe me some and I've not gotten sick, when the whole office has. They laugh at me, but I'm the one laughing with no illnesses. I do cough, but unfortunately, that's blamed on my smoking. :(

P.S. Lift your mattress, stuff a nice thick layer of blankets under the top third between the mattress and the boxspring, it will slightly elevate you and really helps with that chest congestion and nasal drip thing as you are resting.

Go get yourself some Chloroseptic Spray. It really helps relieve the irritation and pain. (I hate it, but it works) I really hope you are feeling better soon! :D

I'm fending off illness myself :bleh: but it seems to be helping to take a ton of Vitamin C. As much as your bowls can take before it... erm... sets you free. Everybody's body is different. We're one of the only animals that don't make our own vitamin C in our bodies, and my fiancee and I have found that taking lots of it really seems to help fight off infection. I've been slacking because I always forget to take it when I'm not actually sick or in pain, but since I can feel it coming on I'm taking extra.
