    interesting snake sites
I dunno if there are any similar threads out there but if there are I appologize. Since I have only recently started to get interested in snakes and am I relative newbie, I've become obsessed with visiting various herp sites to educate myself and look at pics. I was wondering if you guys could put together a list of all the snake sites you like to visit.
    -Thanks so much!

I usually head over to www.kingsnake.com , they have loads of stuff on all kinds of snakes and lizards, and you can go to breeder sites from there to look at pics and get info.

Just out of curiousity..why is it people cant link to other sites where you can find valuable information on your ball pythons/snakes which is the reason were all here? to talk about our snakes and get help with questions...

"5. Links. Links to other sites/forums that provide competing products (Caresheets, Do It Yourself, etc) and resources and the like are not allowed. If one chooses to find info elsewhere, they are free to do so using whatever means available to them."

Diceman, that is the rule that Admins have in place for members and visitors. We are guests in their home. We have to follow these rules and appreciate the fact that we have free access to a wealth of information from the site as well as access to knowledgeable breeders who frequent the forums. If one cannot follow the rules, then one is asked to comply or leave. Hec, if I had a party at my house, and some of the guest got real roudy, I would ask them to behave or go find a party that would accept that kind of behaviour. Its as simple as that. Have a nice day :)

OK, I am not explaining this again, I have done so a bunch of times, I have even made posts on this a number of times. Infact, I did just this week. Here are the links to pertinent info, please read those thoroughly and comply. We are not here to give other forums free advertising, we must strive for self preservation. We are not saying we are better than others. But bottom line, if you want more info, you are able to find it by looking. Also, most other sites, if you bother to read thier rules or TOS, you will find they too do not allow links to "competing" forums and such.

    Links as follows:
    Forum Rules/TOS-
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/annou...nouncementid=3

And a reminder I posted in this week and in the past about these things-

I guess I can see that you dont want to support competitors but if it werent for linking in forums I would have never found this site. Im always on the lookout for great sites and great people and sifting through all the garbage google comes up with can be quite a chore sometimes. Dont get me wrong, this is a wonderful BP community, but no single forum can cover EVERYTHING herp related.

You may have a good point, however, that is the way it is and it wont change anytime soon. We do it out of self preservation. If ppl want other/more info that cannot be found here or gotten by asking, they are quite free to use whatever search engine they want to generate more info elsewhere.
