Medusa Art
Urutu is still in my fiancee's ink box (she inks while I pencil and color, but things have been hectic), but I'm getting started on the BP Pied Piper piece I've had developing in my brain while I wait to color it along with a few other projects. But the seed of a Blood Python Medusa that Shelby planted is still growing too.
So I thought I'd pester some of you snake lovers for ideas. :D Especially people who know Blood Pythons better than I do. All my Medusa/Nagas lately have a theme that (hopefully) suits the species and I choose a classic leading lady or model to base the basic facials off of. I used Sophia Loren for Urutu and for the Pied Piper I'm using Clara Bow.
Any ideas for a nice voluptuous beauty for a Blood? Or a theme to go with? For Urutu "Feathered Serpent" was the theme. "Pied Piper" is kind of self explainatory. Maybe kinda goth, given the species name? Who would be a good model who actually has some meat on her? They're hard to find :P The piece won't look just like her, just give me a basic palette to work from. Marilyn Monroe is kinda done to death... Help me brainstorm? What do you guys think?

Do you know the Legacy of Kain PS2 etc games? Blood Omen has one that springs to my mind ... it's Umah who is Kain's vampiric love interest ... here's a link I found quickly on google http://legacyofkain.interfree.it/blood1.htm - it's the girl in the purple bikini-type outfit
Your work looks really good :D

Re: Medusa Art
All I have is a gameboy advance with like 5 games, 3 of which are Zelda. And an old PS1 with 2 games. It's quite sad. Cool pics though! And Oooh, vampiress theme is so obviously delightfully perfect! I'm a little amazed vampiress didn't come immediately to mind! This is why I ask, lol. I like that a lot... Hmm...
Actresses... hmmm...
And thank you :aww:

Don't ask me why, but when I thought of the blood python the actress Angelina Jolie popped in my head. *shrug* (I'm not too creative, but it seemed to fit)

That's OK :) I love all the LOK games - Soul Reaver 2 was my first ever game and got me onto the whole vampire game thingy. There's so many possible names just within that series alone that you could use for a flock ;) of snakes. Actually I call my parrot "The Winged Vampire" - given he likes to fly and attack and draw blood sometimes - he can be a real monster!!

Re: Medusa Art
Gah I LOVE those games. I started with Blood Omen 2 and loved it. I then went to Soul Reaver, to Soul Reaver 2, than to Defiance, and now I kind of reversed all the way back to Blood Omen.
As for the names yeah, I love the name Kain because of that game but I usually spell it differently. And Raziel is one of my favorite names. I love the depth of his character.

I agree, Angelina Jolie was the first one to pop into my head too, another vote for her!

Raz is my favorite too (hence the name ;) ) I liked BO2 as well (I know a lot of the die-hard fans didn't) - one of my fave characters in that game was Faustus - I found him really funny. I found BO1 so hard - I started off with SR2, then SR1, then original Blood Omen - and really missed having an analog stick. My other favorites are Onimusha series, DMC and Prince of Persia. Oh yep - and God of War - that is one awesome game.

I love your art! Too funny that you're going to be doing this. I've been planning to name my het pied male that I'll be getting this year - Piper! LOL

As far as blood pythons.. they are sometimes pissy little boogers. I have a couple pics of my two here for you, and I will try to take some new ones later today. Watch for a thread from me:

Re: Medusa Art
I'm an embarrassment to my gamer brother ;) I'm always years behind the current console, I have played the first Soul Reaver game though at met a couple of the guys who worked designing it at art school. They were pretty funny and friendly guys who talked about just how many doofy collectibles and action figures were piled all over their desks, lol. I forget which one of the Soul Reaver games my friend's game art teacher helped design... probably also the first one. When I played it I got real stuck on the bosses so just ran around having fun pointlessly stabbing things, lol. Mmm, stress relief.
ANYwho, yes, Medusa! Thank you, Shelby! I think Meatball especially will be most helpful! :D I can use all the references I can get! Specially since I don't exactly have a pose yet in mind. Much more of a laying down rather than a sitting up sort of snake, aren't they?
Angie is an excellent Medusa idea, yet somehow I'm not thinking so much for a blood... I adore her, personally, (course show me a lesbian who doesn't, lol :P) but I keep thinking a bit more zaftig. Thus am leaning more toward Sarah Jezebel Deva. She's got much more the body type and face shape I was thinking! :) *looks up more pics* Angie should be a Medusa, I'm just not sure what snake species suits her best... There was a brief Medusa Angelina screenshot in the movie Alexander I keep wishing I could get my talons on, lol. I want to base one on Garbo, Deitrich, Salma Hayak, and Katherine Hepburn etc too, but all in good time, lol.
Not that I can quite explain how Clara Bow suits a BP to me, she just does. Lol that you're naming your het pied Piper, Robin! I kept being stumped on a theme for the BP then gave up and decided to think on what morph I wanted to use instead. Then it just sort of came together ;) All the more amusing that the Pied Piper lead the *rats* out to their doom. Turns out, it was because they were delish! Yummy rats.
