What I got at the swap
Well, I only bought one snake at the swap today (aren't you guys proud of me?) Oh, and an arachnid.
My new scalekid is a speckled kingsnake. Not certain of gender yet, but the guy thought female. She's in shed right now and very nervous. The picture doesn't do her justice.

The arachnid is a giant vinegaroon. Cool little bugger. Mum doesn't think so though. lol

Got to meet Schlyne there which was nice. Sorry I could stay and chat at all, I misplaced my cousin who has the tendancy to wander off, and I had to find her. ;)

Re: What I got at the swap
Very pretty snake. The vinegaroon frightens me a bit... How many snake do you have now?
-
Re: What I got at the swap
22 snakes.. and the vinegaroon is harmless.
-
Re: What I got at the swap
Wow, congrats! I am very proud of you for only buying one snake!

Re: What I got at the swap
Well the only reason I bought just one is because I ran out of money.. *sigh* ;)
I got to hold a big 10-12' retic.. it was soooo cool! I love retics.

Re: What I got at the swap
Definately understand the running out of money syndrome. The retic sounds nice!
Ah *dreams a little dream*

Re: What I got at the swap
Funny thing is.. the one thing I wanted to get there, no one had. I wanted a greenbottle blue tarantula. I considered a cobalt blue, but I didn't really want to spend $40 on a horridly aggressive pet hole. :)
Next time.. the greenbottle blue is mine!

Re: What I got at the swap
Running out of money is the most effective way not to spend ;) I adore kingsnakes, so lovely :) The vinegaroon is a trip! What a neat little dude! I think he'd give my Mom a heart attack though, lol.

Re: What I got at the swap
Yes they do keep me busy, Vaughn.. I love it!
And thanks for the compliment on the pic there.. photoshop is fun!
Joe - who is it? I know Botar by 8s has some, but they weren't at the swap this time. I asked everyone who had tarantulas there if they had any, but no one did.

Re: What I got at the swap
Yeah, I think if my GBB ends up being a male, I will probably end up giving him to The Theraphosid Breeding Project (aka Bruce and Bill to the locals) for breeding loan.
It was nice to meet Shelby, although I was trying to find a guy I was supposed to give a tarantula to at the time.
I left with a Costa Rican Tiger Rump Tarnatula, an Usumbara Baboon Tarnatula, and this little guy.

Re: What I got at the swap
Thanks. It will probably be awhile before I can go to the swap again, as unfortunately it is hard for me to get weekend days off. Anyone know how much it normally costs to ship a tarantula?

Swift Invert's quotes shipping through DHL express is $30. (and when you order with him, he always sends a free invert). I'd guess it's about in that price range. I've shipped a few overnight but I've had to use bigger insulated boxes, since I only have one size. If you're planning to use botar, I have no idea how much it costs, since I know he's not using DHL anymore, since they lost his shipment of singapore blues. :O
Swift's site. http://www.swiftinverts.com/
I generally buy a lot of stuff from botar, instead of some of the other online inverts dealers, but I don't have to pay shipping costs, since he goes to the swap.

Re: What I got at the swap
Yeah I'll probably wait for botar to be at the swap when I can go again. I don't really want to spend double the amount with shipping!
I go to swiftingerts.com a lot. Great stuff there! I can't imagine having lost singapore blues.. they're so gorgeous.

Re: What I got at the swap
i'm getting myself a GBB next week! s/he's moulting right now and hopefully the owner will be able to sex it - we are hoping for a girl!
i'm also picking up a pink zebra beauty and a costa rican zebra...
it's gonna to cost me some $$ but the seller is a fellow addict who is downsizing a bit and is charging me what she paid for them... and tossing in a viv for two of them as well. so... i think we are getting them all... but the GBB for sure!!! isn't it cool how they change from orange to blue as they grow up :)

Re: What I got at the swap
Shelby, the lady i was telling you about in OTAWAA does have gbb for $65.She says they are young and just starting to show thier adult colors to be.PM me if you want her phone number and she can ship it if needed.
-
Re: What I got at the swap
I can't afford $65 right now. The GBBs at botar are $30-45. Thanks anyways, though.
Costa rican zebras are so pretty.. I want to see pics when you get your new spiders!
