Inspired by images Shelby linked to of the lovely viper bothrops alternatus, I did a bit of artwork not yet finished, but I thought I'd go ahead and post the penciling as promised. It'll get inked then colored at some point, and I think most of the belly scales and detailing will be in the coloring. I'm really very pleased, being around Falkor and doing so much snake research has really given me a better feel for them, and my Medusa pieces are really improving.

I call this one "Urutu; The Feathered Serpent".

That is very beautiful! You have a nice clean crisp style that can really show off the great snake patterns.

Thank you! /(^v^)\ I have a slight obsession with Medusa, and love to do different flattering interpretations. My style is very comic book influenced, Wendy Pini of Elfquest inparticular. Fantasy is *fun* to draw, and I was careful to keep it family friendly with strategic snake ;). I'm thinking of doing a shy BP one next.

Oh yes do a ball python one!

You should do an obese blood python one. Very voluptous. :)

Oooh, good idea! Lots of inspiration around here, lol! Some of my older Medusas are in their own section of my Gallery and they were just kind of generic snakes mostly except for the angsty bandy-bandy and one that was kind of green tree python but not based. I'm loving the species Medusa ideas! I already have an image in mind for the BP... I'll have to keep the blood python in mind and see what strikes me! :D

Moved to OFF TOPIC, as this is not a post on venomous snakes, where it was posted.

I actually did a tattoo commission once, but it fell through so I just colored it and put it up in my gallery. So the only tattoo design that's actually been put on skin of mine is my avatar there. /(^v^)\ It's on my left bicep. I'm a big baby though and don't think I could take up learning to tattoo someone myself, lol. I've definantly thought about making/selling tat designs though, but I have no idea how to get into that.
