Re: x-mas project
Do you have just that one thermostat controlling the entire closet? How much flexwatt do you have total, and is it your only heat-source? Does your temperature probe measure ambient temps, or a certain spot in particular? Is all the flexwatt connected to one plug in series?
Sorry for the bombardment of questions ;)

Re: x-mas project
yes, the helix is controlling all the heat. it is rated at 500 watts, there is 300 watts of heat tape in there now.
15 ft. of 11 inch tape at 20 watts/ft. the whole closet is insulated, and there is a small (4 inch) computer fan on the top shelf that is circulating the air. i'm measuring ambient temps, and the flexwatt strips plug into a 6 outlet surge protector that is controlled by the helix. that way i can add/remove flexwatt as needed. the little computer fan is from radio shack and it is 120 volt and puts out 65 cfm, just enough to move some air in a closet.
